    MILITARY TRUCK RADIATOR COVER (USED)

I just bought one from FLMV.net. Complete, NOS, all hardware included for $20 delivered to my door. Postage to France would be a little higher, but you would get a brand new part.

    Front Drive Flanges?

You can pull the inner duals, although I'm not sure that will help a lot. You can borrow my desplined hubs, I am about 40 miles West of Atlanta, in Carrollton, Ga. Running de-splined hubs helped my mileage a little, and helped the seat of the pants feel. You can cut your fuel with some used...

    oil additive

If I run a can of STP oil treatment in my little 4 cyl. Nissan truck (254K miles), it runs smoothly for 6000 miles when I change the oil. Without it, I have a hydraulic cam follower that starts leaking down when the engine has been run at highway speeds for an hour or so. The engine will start...

Road trip to Ft. Bragg comming up in Jan...

No good. Oh well, if the engine is running well, it would be a good source of parts.

Adding a third axle to an M36

I can see this truck needing steering brakes. You could prolly turn around in a 40 acre field, maybe.

Where is the block cracked? I have cold welded quite a few over the years with no problems. As long as the crack is external, it can usually be fixed. Cold welding is a technique that uses cast iron plugs drilled and tapped into the block in an overlapping pattern along the crack. Westech has...

    Engine Mechanic Needed

Try a little sniff of ether and see if it fires. If it does, look at the fuel system. You may have anything from a fuel filter, lift pump, to an injector pump acting up. Check that the fuel shutoff isn't stuck. Verify that the lift pump is working, if the truck sat a long time (most in GL have)...

    starting advice

Look in the LDS troubleshooting guide in the tech section. It shows the oil flow through the galleries. I bought a LDT 465 1D engine in the can for $550. Turns over good, built in '89. Found some paperwork in the can that stated that the engine ran, but was leaking oil from the edge of the head...

    Anyone curious about the M35A3?

The tire/wheel set is pretty heavy. A buddy drove one in the guard, he said the seats were nice, the truck was quiet. He also said they spent more time being towed in than the A-2. He was not impressed. He did say a couple got trashed and they swapped the seats into the A2's before they turned...

    kcgonzo on ebay

I don't bid against members, and haven't had any bid against me. Helps to put out the bidding notice.

    muffler

The muffler made no adverse impact on my deuce. It did knock the noise back a good bit.

Anyone out there have the 3503 (5th gear OD)?

I believe the 3053 is the direct drive tranny from the old gassers. The 3053A is the OD tranny from behind the multifuel.

How much to repair this deuce?

I paid 3K$ for mine, 1967 Kaiser, whistler, air shift, 1100R20 singles, cab heat, new soft top, depot overhauled in 1989, 13K miles. I drove it home the next week. That truck looks like it was entered in a mud bogging event, judging from the "sponsor name" on the bed sides. I would imagine the...

Best source for replacement seat back and bottom?

I used a couple of old shelter halves that I got from Desert Rat, some foam from a golf cart seat, and some plywood. I made new cushions for the bottom and back of both spring seats in my deuce. Cutting up an old Yamaha golf cart seat gave me some really nice, thick foam.

    SMOOOOKE!

Get Desert rat to post a pic. of his elbow. It is a muffler shop item, looks like it was made for the truck. I noticed a performance drop in my deuce while driving through a 2 hour downpour. I also noticed that I was soaked! Remind me to install the new windshield gaskets before next monsoon...

    Pull off's

Definately short choke the chain. If he is in a single axle truck, you will win. Air down your tires to about 30 psi. Are you going to pull on pavement or dirt? That will determine a lot. Be careful.

    Tranmission problem

Now that is a method to add to my list of things to do in awkward situations! Sounds like a good method, and as you said, nothing to lose.
