It does not look like the race has been spinning on the axle OR the hub. Never noticed the temp. diff. before.
( i have a habit of checking hubs because I realy dont want to have to change axles ) Now that I got the son off to collage I
can spend time on this. To day I am going to get a socket...
the book
I finely got time to sit and read. Here is what the book says. I did this to all 4.
I'm not sure if I got it to preload setting. Have to get a socket to fit the nut and my torque

I greased the wheel bearings this year and only have 1 driving me nuts. The left rear rear.
All the others just get warm ( all truck hubs do when there run ) but this one get really warm.
To the point where you can not hold you hand on it. Took it for a short ride and noticed the flange end...
sounds like old age and use. could be more OR something easy to fix.
I hear saw dust works well. Sorry Mine makes more rattles when warm too. When you get all that stuff ran thought you and age I guess i would rattle too when warm.

RE: Trucks

Be care full dude and thanks for the pic. I have not seen the armored up ones in what I do but they are
around I'm sure. I hear they are also very top heavy when loaded so inclines are a big thing with them.
The years I worked on trucks and equipment when this happens ether some crud or something else jammed it up. When that
happens it always leaves a bur. Once stuck, now it will and you might never know when the next time will be. This makes peace
mind fun drives really had to enjoy.
My $0.05...
Re: The test

hook ups
as with the hemit and the M1089a1 they have different hook ups for the different trucks. In the hemit TM it shows the different hooks and how to use them. more pieces to the puzzle.
I think it is just more stuff to worry about and carry. A tow bar set up I still think is easyer to...
I have a set up on mine for propane on my M543A2. There 3 ways I guess now on how to do it.
one is a set up like the propane fork lifts have that uses a heater to warm up the propane before it is
used. If I remember right it uses the carb. as the regulator to.
The way I do it is the reg. is at...
:D :)   [thumbzup] 8) rofl
It has like under 4k on it. I'M IN LOVE !!!!!!!!!!
But it might be some time before these show up on GL.
Set up some what like the HEMIT. ( would like one of them too )
My LTC. told me to stop drooling on it.
Re: The test
ok did the frig. thing. ( rubs back of head and feels the lumps ) It does not look
any thicker then the warm stuff. Feels almost the same to the touch. Does not look to have separated. Freezer next. ( when these lumps go down )
That's my 0.05 cents worth.

RE: Re: RE: Packing bearings and checking Brakes
I also did mine this year. New seals inner and outer and hub seal. The mech. at the armory tell me the only thing in them hubs is grease. Oil washes out the grease.
The cork gasket is like a sliver as wide as the notch and about 1/2-9/16 long...
