    Stuck Injector? Mep 803a

Seafoam has quite a bit of isopropyl alcohol in it, and not much else. You'd be better off with a PEA containing product like Redline SI-1. It has the highest concentration of PEA of the cleaners I checked. I just ordered two 15 oz. bottles from Amazon for about $25 for the pair.

    Using thicker oil

In general, with various engines, I normally see an increase in oil pressure after an oil change, even if it's the same type and viscosity of oil. This is especially true for oil that's been run over 200 hours.

    Using thicker oil

Right, 15W-40 is SAE15 with additives to keep it about as thick as SAE40 when hot. SAE40 has longer molecules than SAE15, so it doesn't fit between things like rings and cylinders as easily as 15W-40. My log splitter with an old B&S engine will burn 10W-40 oil fairly quickly, but doesn't burn...

    I guess it's a LPW2, not a DN2M...

I believe that! The one time I tried to buy an exhaust Y pipe for an Onan generator the price I was quoted was in the hundreds of dollars. I said, "I can have one custom made for less than that!" The guy just said, "Oh, really?" I got some stock bends and welded it up myself.

    Irish Spring soap (Rodent Deterrent)

They'd keep me away too! I used to mountain bike quite a bit with a friend, and one day while he was on the trail in front of me I smelled a non-pleasant perfumy odor and my eyes started burning and watering. I asked him what was causing the stink and he said his wife used a dryer sheet when...

MEP Generator Output Waveforms and THD

I'd be interested in knowing what devices are sensitive to harmonic distortion. I've run desktop and laptop computers on square wave inverters for many hours with no problem, and a square wave has more than 40% harmonic distortion. Motors generally don't care about a few percent, since they're...

    20kw Generator

The frequency stability of an 003A is very good. Mine normally stays within ±1 Hz when powering my whole house.

    MEP-803a starting Capability

I sold my rotary converter and run my 3-phase equipment on a VFD. It's a 240v single phase input, 208v 3 phase output VFD. It works great, and adds variable speed where I didn't have that with the rotary converter.

    Anyone know what this is?

The trouble is that this unit appears to have an electric motor driving a 400 Hz generator to convert 60 Hz AC to 400 Hz AC,

    Anyone know what this is?

It appears to be a motor-generator set that takes 60 Hz 3 phase input at 10 kW, and puts out 400Hz AC. I base that on this page that I found with a Google search for the NSN. https://www.aviationpurchasingplatform.com/nsn/rfq/kurz-and-root-generator-company-llc/6125007248947/kurtmd2/

    mep 003 AVR PINOUT

That new one was made my me some time ago, as an aftermarket replacement with some improvements. I made several hundred of those before I retired last year. I designed the board so that it was configured for 60Hz operation without needing any jumpers, and I eliminated the unused terminals.

    mep 003 AVR PINOUT

Of the two I've worked with, the older one is 72-5020 and the newer one is 72-5338. Those numbers are printed the boards. There is no significant difference between the two, but the layout is a little different. Both use jumpers to configure them for 60Hz or 400Hz use.

Terminals 4 and 5 should also be jumpered together. So that's: 1-2-3 4-5 8-9 Missing jumpers won't prevent the generator from producing power though. It affects how well the generator responds to changing loads.

    MEP003 ROTATING DIODES

You're right, it's three of each type, so six total... thanks. The important thing is that there are two different types, the -A and the -RA versions.

    MEP003 ROTATING DIODES

Note that there are two each of two different diodes in the generator, 1N1206A and 1N1206RA. The -RA diodes are reverse polarity. Edit: It's actually 6 total, 3 of each type.

    MEP003 ROTATING DIODES

This thread has information about the 1N part numbers. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mep-002a-and-003a.62648/ These can be a little hard to find, and a little expensive at times. You can substitute the higher voltage 1N1206A and 1N1206RA, and there is no reason not to go with those...

NOCO Charger Question - MEP-803A w/Optima Red Tops

The terminal voltage of an unloaded battery might tell you the percent charge, but that's the percentage of its capacity in its current condition. A failing battery can appear to be 100% charged, but not be able to supply the current needed to start an engine.

    Main power indicator

Maybe it's because I live in such a sparsely populated area, but they seem to notify me very soon after the power returns.

I have a Powerback alarm, but now my power company sends me a text message when the power returns.

    Mep-002A Bridge rectifier R1 burnt

If the regulator is sending excessive control current to CVT1, which is one mode of failure, then it could, as you say, be the problem. If this is the case, if you disconnect the wire from terminal 17 of the regulator and tape its end so it doesn't contact anything, you will prevent the...
