Re: RE: What oil filter for 10kw MEP-018a with a spin on fil
Any idea what kind of mods are required? I'd love to put a starter on my 4a032. Thanks

Re: RE: Re: RE: TMs for MEP-002 & 003 ... to upload?
There is no copyright statement. Other than title and related information, it says "this copy is a reprint ...." and "published under the authority of the departments of the army, air force, navy and headquarters u.s. marine corps".

Re: RE: TMs for MEP-002 & 003 ... to upload?
OK, no prolem there. I was primarily asking for opinions on whether to upload them or not. As I said, I believe that they are in the public domain but don't know that for a fact.
I have purchased a cd which, among other things, contains the TMs for the MEP-002 and MEP-003 gensets. I *believe* that these publications are in the public domain. Should I upload them? If so, how? Thanks

Thanks Ken. I learn something new here every day. I've never before seen the MEP-016A referred to as anything but gas. Diesel *and* sound suppressed ... nice.
Interesting. Didn't know that but now that you bring it up, my TM only mentions the mep-016a/c. Was the Onan diesel engine part of the conversion? I have read about great difficulty in getting parts for those. Thanks
Ken, I suspect you have your model nos. mixed up. The MEP-16A/C is a fine little generator but it is a gas model and, altho not terribly loud, it certainly is not quiet.
I do wish mine was electric start for the wife but it starts pretty easily with the rope.
Given a good quality photo and dimensions, It would be fairly easy to have that sticker reproduced. The kicker, of course, is how many do you want? My guess (and it is only a guess) is that you would need to sell about 40 or so at $5 each to cover costs. Would there enough interest in something...
Re: RE: M1008 Fuel Mileage (vs 1009)
Which brings up an interesting point. Does anyone know the tire size for which the 1008/1009 odometers were originally calibrated? From there you could figure out your true mileage.

Re: RE: Re: RE: 3kw gas genset carb questions
This carb has been abused/adjusted in the past and I wonder what the correct adjustments are supposed to be. I suspect the rebuild kits (of which Saturn is sold out) have the adjustment info in them. Anybody out there have one?
I know you are...
Re: RE: Re: RE: 3kw gas genset carb questions
This carb has definitely been "tinkered with" at some point ... screwdriver marks, head twisted off jet adjustment (i'm just guessing that this is what the brass piece sticking up in the middle of the carb is) and so on. I was hoping to use this...
Re: RE: 3kw gas genset carb questions
Kenneth,
I have downloaded and printed the manuals but I haven't been able to find anything other than unit replacement info ... no carb internal maintenance/adjustment data. Perhaps I missed it somehow, I'll check again.
As far as the no power goes, no...
Hi all,
When I first got this MEP16A a couple of months ago, it would start and seemed to run ok altho I never let it run for more than a couple of minutes at a time. Just long enough to see that it wasn't putting out any power.
Lately tho I've been having trouble getting the 4a032 engine to...
RE: m1009
Not to hijack the thread (i think this fits ... in spirit anyway) but did anybody here acquire the $685 GL M1009 the other day?

Price seemed right and pics looked good to my untrained eye but didn't have a chance to...
