Okay, maybe closer to 40%, and that me be high due to my excitement, but it was a significant change. Anyone have an idea what could the cause the difficult steering before the de-splined caps given the ease afterwards. Possible Deuce for sale..uugh
Well This is my first experience with a deuce, so I don't know, I may have an issue with my steering. Don't know what the steering issue could be based on my new found ease?
Sorry, The splines are machined out of the cap, so the wheels are disengaged from each other. Steve has a pic of the inner machines in the classifieds. Hope that make it clear. Thanks
Well, I just wanted to post the results of the machined front caps I bought from Steve6x6x6. Wow, my deuce was a pain in the butt to steer on the street. OE tires...etc. I have been dropping money on other upgrades and mods and lockers on the front has to take a back set for now. I don't...
As I recently installed my primary fuel and oil filers, I can say the micron rating is smaller so I would say more efficient at cleaning, but the biggest reason I installed mine was for ease, and near instant oil pressure. Getting the primary off was just too much hassle IMO.
Weekend work
Route a new fuel line to my new Primary fuel spin on from John (pic upside down), Installed Spin-on oil filters, replaced most of my gauges and dash plates. Started to re-wire the control signal bird cage, replace all reflectors and replaced the front signal lights with new...
Reservior
I bought a remote brake fluid kit but I must of got the wrong parts. I received a 90 degree and a brass cap. I don't understand. I assume the hose to the reservoir connects to the top of the MC cap. So does it require a T-connection to go to the brakes line also? This is what is...
Finally had some time to get my fuel line fixed and this is what I came up with (I know, bit of over kill). It is 36" long and it runs from the primary filter to the front of the oil pan middle bolt which is secured with a rubber lined strap, then to the injector assembly. I very happy to know...
Well, because I have more money than time or brains, I am going to buy a new tank. Will replace the secondary filters first (a few times as recommended). I can see the injector lines where some paint is chipped of and they look nice and clear. I will post the secondary filters as soon as I get...
The NAPA here does not do that service so I am having some braided line made from a local hydraulic shop. I tend to always over do and over spend, but I am going to get therapy for that someday. The Truck seemed to run pretty good, but did seem to be low on power at higher speeds (40MPH). I...
Still going over the truck and replacing parts and in my investigation, besides the crushed line, I decided to by some spin on from John Tennis. Since the one on the passenger side is kind of a PITA to get a wrench on the 1" nut due to generator, I chose that one first and the oils filters and...
I agree, not a great place or material for this line. I will definitely tuck this line behind the bumper better. I will post an updated pic when completed. Thanks
