Getting the basics, I am not too worried about. Its just that I dont think there is a powered brake signal... just the brake lights. I would think this would be standard on a military truck.
I have been reading for about 30 min now... and doesnt look too difficult to get a brake signal, running lights and turn signals.
But, I am surprised there isnt a powered brake signal for electric brakes already in the factory military trailer plug. Surprised and disappointed.
Something is wrong for sure! I would fill the master and let it gravity bleed for a bit and see if you get some fluid to the calipers. If you bled the master with the little kit and it worked... meaning that the fluid did come up out of the hoses the kit came with... there is nothing wrong...
Did you bleed the master, or just trying at the wheels. You HAVE to bleed at the master. Most new master cylinders come with a bleed kit. Basically two little plastic adapter that allow you to run a rubber hose from the front and rear reservoir outlets back into the reservoir itself. When...
Here is the box of the correct master cylinder that I got. $19.99 from Murray's.
Perfect fit and the brakes are now working great again.

Well... here is mine.
I am new to this truck... didnt know the blackout switch was a three way... or at least you have to give a little tug on it to get it back to the on position.
:-P
All is good. No...
So, I flipped the black out switch for the first time... lights went as I expected.
Problem.... they will not come back on! Fuses are all good.
Gunna have to trace wires.... I hate diagnosing wiring problems.
Any suggestions?
How about a wiring diagram that shows how the black out...
Brake fluid was definitely low. Time for a master change.
I was told there were two different master cylinders in '86 for a K30, diesel, 4wd. And that I had to look at the stamping on it to determine which one it was.
Well, the casting didnt match either one.... the stampings were not what...
It was dark when this happened and I just parked it for the night. Had been working on things all day and I was burnt out for the day. I will have to look tonight when I get home.
