    M46A2C Brutus lives on

I just realized how bad the MV addiction is.....All this started with me looking for a trailer to pull behind my car for a move and camping. That got me looking into the M416 trailers. While looking at those I came across Brutus. Now I am thinking I should find a M38 to pull behind Brutus so I...

    M46A2C Brutus lives on

Talked to Brad today, he thinks the input bearing probably is going on it allowing the oil to come out the front. I have the parts on the way so I think we are good there. On the transfer case running so hot, he said first thing to try is new oil. I checked the level when i got the truck, didn't...

just found this thread. Here is a cool guy video one of our guys put together from our last flight in Alaska. Sadly every aircraft you see in the video is now rotting away in the desert on Davis-Mothan AFB https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ob3UeiQFN_w&feature=youtu.be

    M46A2C Brutus lives on

srodocker, I hope I haven't given the impression that I think I got a bad deal from Brad. Quite the opposite. I knew the transmission was a pulled from a truck and not rebuilt. We both looked it over before installing it. Also, I couldn't have imagined the help I got from him installing it at...

    M46A2C Brutus lives on

I still have a few weeks left in Alabama so haven't been able to do any work, but I have been quite busy spending money. New radiator, hoses, belts, thermostat, heater valves, alternator, clutch kit, transmission bearings/seals, axle seals and some other miscellaneous things that I can't think...

Spicer 3053 main shaft reassemble question

Awesome, thanks for posting up that parts break down. I am going to be replacing all seals an bearings in mine once I get back to California. Probably a dumb question, but what keeps the oil from coming out through the input shaft bearing? Mine is pouring oil from both ends, but I don't see a...

    M46A2C Brutus lives on

As Brutus is sitting in California awaiting my return my step dad is doing some work on him. He pulled the radiator which had a bit of a leak from one of the seams. The radiator shop pressure tested it and apparently the core is really badly deteriorated and was on the verge of failing. I...

    Alaska to Alabama in Brutus

Brad is a life saver. Although he is insanely busy with stuff going on at the yard he not only lent me tools and use of his yard he also provided expert advice and a forlift. He also set the idle and looked over some other stuff for me. I wish I had a week here to go through all of his stuff and...

    Alaska to Alabama in Brutus

The plan now is, if I can come up with a local transmission tomorrow I will do the awap. If it comes to getting one shipped I will store Brutus here and continue on in a Uhaul. While I am at Rucker I will get things shipped to a friend up here and do the swap after my course. Having a hard time...

    Alaska to Alabama in Brutus

Looks like my luck ran out. Opened up the gearbox in the daylight with the intent of swapping out the lower bearing to find three teeth in a row gone on the 5th gear lower gear. It was probably below the oil line when i opened it up the other day. I guess a full rebuild is in order. Now looking...
