I just picked up an MEP 831A diesel generator for my Camper build, so power from that of batteries is not a problem.
Gunny, very interested in one of your 'test' units. I will PM you for more details.
It has been over 90 in Northwestern Nevada for weeks now, and the S.O. ain't having a...
Why not just purchase an RV Roof Unit (115vac) and run off batteries with an inverter? This looks like less $$ right around $1,000 including the inside control panel.
I have also looked into the Chinese made roof units. Hella expensive at nearly $3,000 ea.

Been planning my build for 23 years, ever since we met a couple in Joshua tree driving a Steyer based truck. Hab. design is being firmed up and will be using steel square tubing for the frame, with 3/8 GRP walls riveted on. Floor will be GRP 3/4" thickness.
I did get a copy of Ulrich dolde's...
Just finished up the second tank addition last weekend. I have linked the bottoms together with a manual on/off valve for simplicity, and will let gravity do the transferring work. I inserted a 'T' in the vent line.
One suggestion I will make, get a Mag Drill to make new holes in the frame. It...
Progress.. I have a fabricator lined up to make the tank mod ala-Tenmoger. Still considering just t-ing the vent, supply and return lines, or making them 'switchable'. The Espatcher water/cabin heater will run on Diesel, so I may choose to isolate them using simple valves or a switch in the cab...
I now have my second tank, so here is the follow up question. Were new holes needed to be drilled in the frame in order to bolt on the tank hangers? I have a dealer in Reno who can probably do this..
Excellent and thanks for the response.
What are you planning for the siding, Insulation and interior wall materials? would love to see a floor plan.
This looks about where I plan to be with my Hab..

General Question: To Bed, or De-bed? The LMTV has almost zero frame flex from what I have seen. Many builds I have followed remove the bed to do a build. Why not retain it and build a hab on top? I'm looking at RV black, grey and fresh water tanks that would easily fit in the 7" space below the...
I plan to look more into this part. I've noticed the bracket higher up and wondered in the past if 'something' was supposed to go there.
After off-roading, I get a sh#t ton of mud up in there and its tough to get out of the battery box and air tank area..
