How noisy is your 6.2 lit. M1009

My M1009 engine was louder until I added a quart of ATF fluid and about a 1/2 pint of Lucas Oil Injector Cleaner to the last fillup. Maybe its because I know I added the extra stuff to the diesel but it does seems quiter now. I also have a civi resonator on mine. It does make a difference. I...

    Hood skin separating from braces...

I'm not sure that JB weld would hold it. Have you checked with some of the Auto Body Supply store or Auto Body Shop to see what they recommend? I suspect a body panel adhesive would be your best chance of holding the hood skin to the braces. I had the same problem, but knew I was going to...

    Making Progress

After I got the alternator fixed last week and resolved my GEN 2 light, I decided that I would work on a few things. - Yesterday, I did the Doghead starter relay change. I can even hear the relay click when I turn the key. - Today, I did the ressistor bypass for the glow plug relay. This...

    8$ airl filter

I hope your "cheapy" air filter doesn't cost you big $$$ in the future by letting too much dust & dirt into the engine.:wink::wink: Usually, air filters are not something I want to go cheap on.

    M1009 Power Steering Belt Replacement

Had to replace the Power Steering Belt today on my M1009. Is it just me or is the process to replace the power steering belt a pain in the ask? After messing with the power steering pump and bracket for about 20 minutes trying to get the belt on, I printed out a couple of the pages from the TM...

    M1009 Charging Question

    CUCV Replacement battery

Guys, I hope you have more luck than I in finding the Interstate Group 31s in either Refurbished, 2nds or Blems. I call several local Interstate battery dealers and they said the batteries are just not available around here. One regional dealer told me they had a standing order to get the...

    It's all in the timing

Jon, If you set the engine timing according to the TMs, the mule will run Ok. If you set the timing one tooth off like it is shown on Bill Watson's website the mule will have a lot more pep and run better. a couple of years ago, myself and Chuck (aka Charlie here on this site) took our tools...

    Really need help! Completely dead.

It's not the pink wire causing the problems, because he said no cranking. I've been thru the pink wire issue. My M1009 would crank over fine but would not start. Called a CUCV friend who told me to look at the pink wire. I saw that it had come off. Put it back on and it started right up.

    RED diesel fuel?

Wreckerman, we're only about 35 miles the way the crow flies from you and I have never heard of this. We run "offroad" in 2 farm tractors, 2 mowers and the dozer. I have never had to sign anywhere when I buy the off road red stuff. My old truck carries a 100gal fuel tank full of the stuff.

    lincoln city shooting

Been there, done that & I have a teeshirt too. March will be 2 years ago that I got a ticket in my M1009. I was running 51 in a 35 mph zone. A young city Cop gave me a ticket. I was in my OD M1009, wearing my OD flight jacket, headed to a gunshow. I cost me $140. And yes, I was carrying.:lol:

    M1009 Charging Question

Yesterday I jumped in the M1009 for the 1st time in about a month. When I went to start it, the GEN 2 light did not lightup during the GP cycle. After I started it the GEN 2 light had a faint glow. The voltage gauge never made it out of the yellow. When I rev'd the engine the GEN 2 light didn't...

    Inner-Vehicle Headset/Microphones

If I get the M1009 out on an extended drive I always wear the soft foam earplugs to prevent ear damage. I usually get the soft flesh colored foam ones from Walley world. This might be an option for your "non headphone ear". It would be easy to pull out if pulled over.

    need hub help

Take it apart, clean everything up to remove the rust. If only surface rust, you will be fine putting it back together after cleaning and repacking. If rusted beyond repair, post what parts you need. Someone on here will have the extra parts.
