My orginal USAF m38 has the Hood number of USAF N-1346. Found after sanding. A good hood number for your m38a1 would be 53 B then your serial number. B might not be the letter you want to use you can look up the markings to see.

Lots of misinformation hear. A cj5 and m38a1 share a lot of common parts. Most early cj5's have 5.38:1 axle gear ratios just like the m38a1. All of the mechanical parts are interchangeable. The main difference or than some minor body changes is the m38a1 has 24 volts where the cj5 has 6 or...

I can see what I can do but wont promise anything. It does get moved from time to time but I dont think it is under its own power. It is in a sand pit and lots of commercial stuff is going on. I have only seen it from the road.

I know where there is an LVT sitting in NH. Not doing anything just sitting rusting away. They are cool rigs wish I could get it and have the space and money to restore it.
