The City of Mill Creek is ramping up their Veteran's Day parade rapidly. I spoke to the parade director, Brian Davern today. He is expecting several mil vehicles for the parade, which is Saturday, November 11 and 11am (The eleventh hour of the eleventh day...). I will be there...
UPDATE! The Orange entrance gate on the west side is not open until 0730. Weather looks to be fantastic. Blue sky on days before and after the show, so even if they are off, we're still good. See y'all there.
Jim
Yo, Ed!
0:dark-30! That's 6am in civvy-talk. Drive in at the Orange gate, on the back side of the Fairgrounds. That's the west side. We will be assembling in the usual area, right inside the Blue pedestrian gate.
WAC security guards will be watching for the mil vehicles to arrive and we get in...
Peter: I'm starting to make plans for Auburn, now. If I bring the klanky green thing, can I park on Main St. somewhere? Side streets get a tad narrow.
Jim
YO!
Count me in, one way or another. The weather will determine which of 2 vehicles I bring. If I bring the klanky green thing, I'll have to scoot pretty much after the parade to avoid driving in the dark. Otherwise, I'll join you guys for pizza. I will likely have my WW2 vet friend with me...
This will be about the eighteenth year that we have put on this display at WAC. Always lots of fun, even if it rains. We've never been rained out but we have been rained on, some. As in the past, we will have some money to help pay fuel expenses for getting vehicles to the show. Can't...
This one is a little different. It is actually a community preparedness expo but they dress it up for fun and call it a Zombie Fest. There will be emergency vehicles, an Army Stryker is supposedly going to be there, and who knows what else. I guess the zombie aspect appeals to the younger...
Hi, troops...
The WAC (Washington Arms Collectors) is putting on a gun show on Aug 12 and 13 celebrating the armed
forces and will also host the Northwest Knife Collectors at that show.
I/we (I'm also a WAC member) want to have some military vehicles there
for the vets to see and reminisce...
Very nice. Lunch tickets, huh? Nobody told us anything about it. We were there under our own flag (British artillery, no less) but Alyssa never mentioned it. Dang. There went $20. We did make the cover of the Base Newspaper, though. http://www.nwguardian.com/ We had the only thing that...
Yes. The Joint Base Lewis McChord newspaper had us on the front cover. http://www.nwguardian.com/
We had the only thing there that remotely looked like a tank, including active Army stuff. The kids had fun.
Jim
Sounds like fun. We went to the Ft. Lewis Armed Forces Day event. Almost no classic mil vehicles. I think the total was 6, including 2 Kubelwagons with reenactors. We had about 250 kids on our vehicle, there. We did have fun, though.

Be careful on turning up the pump, adding the turbo, bigger injectors, etc. The 220 and 240 hp engines lack oil coolers for the pistons, so it's very easy to overheat according to Brad at McKenna. If you do bump it up, you have to watch the pyro like a hawk. Oh, and the oil coolers can't be just...
Cummins big cam 400 hp, but it's only pushing 320 ponies right now. Could be that the Army turned the pump down or maybe a leaky aneroid valve in the pump. It gets there, eventually. Whatcha got for power in the 931?
Jim
The one in North Bend, OR was owned By Shirley Laird. He died in a backhoe rollover accident, probably 10 years ago. At that time, it was not buried indoors at all. It was out in the open. No idea where it went to.
You'll need a lowboy, for sure. I have an older one that was 8'0" but we widened...
That's amazing. A guy down in North Bend, OR had one of those, years ago. Wasn't operational, though. His stuff all disappeared after he passed away. I think I remember it having a giant radial engine up front. Good luck with the restoration. The tracks look like they are perfect for sand but...
