Ok, I got the right information to him finally. Price quote is $150 per gallon with a 4 gallon PER COLOR minimum per order. If I only need a half gallon of brown and black, I would need to order 4 gallons of each according to the distributor.
For those who bought SW paints before, does...
I called my SW distributor just mow and he tells me he cannot quote me CARC paints with those numbers. He tells me that the mil-spec paints have mil-??? or some other military designation in front of the paint code.
Am I asking for the right paints?
My deuce is the standard woodland camo (see profile pic). I've been reading older threads about using Sherman Williams CARC paints vs Rapco.
I will be repainting the truck after I complete all the minor rust repairs. Should be ready to paint in by late spring.
What is the experiences...
Hey I'm new too... I was pondering all of the same questions while considering bidding on the A3's in Pineville last week. In the end there were too many unknowns so I passed on the whole auction.. Instead, I chose to go see a private dealer. Someone who did all of the footwork, and had all...
Ah... Just bought my deuce from Ken's ATV in Robert last weekend. It made the trip home, so I guess it would make it back..
I may have to show up for this..
Should be able to get them free. My local SO has 2 of them that cost them $0. They also have 2 high speed pursuit boats that were surplus from US Customs. Surplus ATV's from the US forrest service. All for nothing.. You just have to know how to apply for them..
A little bubbling rust on the hood at the connecting hardware, and in the inside right above the passenger windshield. That is it.. I plan on fixing this in the spring. The bed of the truck looks like it is brand new (honestly)..
Currently I'm looking at sinking a few hundred in sales tax...
The pass. side mirror deal is that the bottom bolt rusted through and broke, so the mirror is crooked.. Easy fix to take it off, drill out the bolt, tap in some new threads and put in a new bolt..
Well I pulled the trigger.... I thought I mentioned the year (which is part of the reason I wanted it). This is a 1967 model in awesome shape. Drove it home 80 miles this afternoon. Does every bit of 57 mph even though the tag says to not exceed 55.. Not to worrry, I didn't run it balls out...
Seller is legit. He is a dealer and has sold many of these before.
I basically pay him the sales price, plus a $25 notary fee and $20 for a temp tag and he gives me the original paperwork. Then I'm good to go to the DMV..
He buys them from GL auctions, gets them to his shop where he fixes and bleeds the brakes, changes injectors if needed fixes whatever may be broken. He sells them from a dealership but none of them have been titled with the state yet.
It has not been titled yet, but it has been inspected and certified by the Louisiana State Police and according to the dealer it has everything needed to bring to the DMV to have it registered and titled... Everything works.. Lights blinkers horn... Here is a link to the pic...

I'm considering a private sale from the dealer who picked up a Deuce from Camp Shelby a while back. All the leg work has been done as far as getting it recovered and having it made road ready. I looked at it yesterday and this is a very tight running deuce. Strong motor, no leaks and good...
Truck had one flat but it was not cut that I could see. The rest were fine. I reached in and flipped the access. switch and nada.. Dead batt for sure. I didn't climb in and check everything, Just a quick look and see. Inside is pretty nice. The driver side window was down so I rolled up up for...
And as far as the tires on these lots.. Even though all of them had at least one flat, there were only 3 tires that were obviously split or cut to the core. The rest appeared to be simply flat.
I'm definitely learning a lot from the people in here. I'll use the learnings next time, and hopefully I'll be successful in my next attempt. My wife and brother both think I'm nuts, but there is a strange allure to these trucks..
