Thanks. It is a 67 Kaiser but has obviously gone through a refurb or 2 over the years. It is definitely worth fixing up and getting it looking good. My only real work is surface rust. No cancer anywhere. The Hercules MF runs excellent!
Oldfart thanks!! I've already reviewed the TM section regarding patterns and I will be referring to the TM after I spray on the base coat to mark out the actual camo patterns.
I have the type I CARC in 383 green which I understand will stick to darn near anything with minimal surface prep...
My deuce currently has the 3 color camp pattern, but the cab, bed and troop seats have 3 distinctly different color brown colors which leads me to believe that the bed was replaced at some point and the troop seats were put on after that. The bed is in near perfect condidtion while the cab has...
I'm going to agree with #1.. I can easily see someone in local government thinking that they owned something that may have been loaned to then years before.
Congrats!! I bought mine from a dealer who flips them from GL auctions as well, but he also does the leg work in getting the State Police inspection PW and when he sells it to someone, it is road worthy and everything works. I paid $3,500 for mine so you got a good deal.. Keep it running and...
I received some excellent advice from a member.... If you name your truck using either her name or nickname or anything that can be associated with her, then she will love the truck.. I plan on doing that when I paint it in a month or so.. If she still doesn't like it, I'll change the name to...
My filter kit also had a variety of gaskets. And the cartridges were approximately 1/2 longer than the old ones and the outer material was not metal like the ones that came out.
This was the set I ordered...
Filter Set Fuel & Oil (5 pcs) For M35A2, M54A2, FS01
I will definitely let her sit a lot longer next time. I will also put an old sheet of plywood under the truck just in case...
I plan on degreasing the engine as well this week when I have time..
What a rude awakening. My procedure...
1. Let truck sit for 15 minutes to let the filters drain out.
2. Drain the rear plug first.
3. Drain the front plug.
4. Remove the front liquid locked filter cartridge and make a big mess on the driveway.
5. Repeat step 4 and double the mess...
Nice... I'm going the long route also with sanding/priming as time permits. Hope to be ready to paint by May. I'm using 383 CARC type I in the gallon cans that I bought from ranchhopper.. I am also working on a 87' Samurai in parallel that I will park in the bed of the deuce with a matching...
Ouch!! I previewed those last month. Those A3s were some very "rough" trucks in Pineville. I know of a few that managed to drive off the base, but more of them had to be trailered out.. I hope you goy one of the better ones.. Good luck with your recovery..
This looks to be pretty wierd in a scrap auction... 3,600,000 (thats 3 million +) pounds of used warship 16" gun barrels....
