hi all, just thought id post a pic of my 816 with my m35 on suspened tow at a recent mvt show here in england.many thanks to all who helped with info over the last 10 months or so with wrecker
thanks for this info jwaller,i contacted a cummins supplier here in uk with your part numbers and the kit arrived today and looks spot on and only cost £80 with filter.will fit soon. many thanks martin
its a small world?,on the second picture its my 816 and m35 with snoopy on bonnet.the picture of isabelle is of a 1943 albion and the owner told me he restored it over 2 1/2 years back to original from converted wrecker, he made his own canvas and had every nut/bolt zinc plated=1/3 of a ton of...
can any of you guys post a picture or two showing a m35 correctly coupled up to a 816 wrecker ready for suspened towing and hopefully showing wiffle tree fitment.am away from internet for a few days so thanks (in advance) for any help. martin
?can you tell us how to adjust voltage on the cummins alternator as mine the same with the gauge showing max voltage with needle at top of scale?thought id read it was not adjustable in tm?
?n the power divider for crane/rear winch is air valve which when you engage crane drive a rod operates this valve which then supplies main line air to upper govener on pt pump to keep speed at a contanst 1250rpm for even crane operation=this valve could be leaking or piping after it maybe
i didnt get any starting probs just the missing type noise, just like a petrol engine held on the rev limiter. i could ease off as it got better and could also floor it and it would stop but if i wanted to cruise at a set rpm then it would happen.i beleive the advance hub to be quite simple= its...
my a2c made exactly that type of noise any where from 1400rpm upwards on steady cruising.replaced the injector pump with s/h unit and cured it. on stripping down original the pump shop they thought the automatic timing advance mechanism in front of pump was sticking- it advances on a helical...
thanks dave for reply, hopefully someone will tell me as i hope to refit it saturday.to have a new regulator machined out of a block of ally was 260 english pounds= ouch!with diesel here in uk at 5.30 pound a gallon(thats prob $10 plus) trucking as a hobby aint cheap but it is good tho.hope some...
yeah had to take this valve/hyd pipe out due to it leaking.the valve has a hairline crack down it so the more you tighten the pipes the more it leaks.am having a new one machined out-very expensive but cant get one here in uk.?does the arrow on regulator face away fron valve block and towards...
can anyone please clarify this. On my 816 there is hyd pipe fitted between the operating valve block and the boom ram extension connection. In this pipe is a"oil flow regulator"(as the tm describes it).i think mine is fitted the wrong way round coz the arrow on it is pointing towards the valve...
having to crank over for up to 20 seconds to get to start from cold after having been stood for a week-im sure when i irst got truck it started on the button, had fuel pump checked and have renewed all fuel hoses and lthese lines show no leak under pressure.wondered if a non return valve in...
has anyone fitted a non return valve in the fuel line of a 816 250 cummins?and if was of a correct diameter is there any reason why its not a good idea to do so?
thanks martin
yeah it seems to work as you say joe, when in reverse air is supplied via poppet valve to reverse side of sprag pushing it one way and then as soon as you are back in neutral and then consequently any forward gear air is then supplied to other side of sprag pushing it back other way.not sure if...
i took my 816 apart and physically watched how it works.the gearbox operating shaft has 2 detents machined in it which in reverse the reverse poppet rides up out of detent onto full shaft diameter causing poppet to open and air to transfer sprag .As soon as you come back to neutral the reverse...
you dont need to go into first to select forward motion sprag-as soon as you come out of reverse and into neutral the forward diection poppet air valve opens suppling air to transfer to move sprag-if you get chance physically look at sliding shaft in gearbox cover that operates poppet valves and...
my 816 exactly the same, wont start after a few days but also if left idling becomes fluffy idling and poor throttle response.have checked tank and lines and are ok.injectors have been done as well.i did find that pump always felt damp with fuel from around rear of casing but not enough to drip...
ive read on hear a few times that with 5 ton sprags you need to engage first gear when coming from reverse for correct operation of the transfer sprag!.this is 100% incorrect for on my 816 wrecker i physically looked at how my gearbox operated inside= the sliding shaft that engages the poppet...
hello, im trying to locate the gas cyls for my 816 wrecker but here in the uk they are non existant.can anyone answer these questions please. 1,what are their diameter and length and if the truck is in 3 colour camo would they be painted this same colouras ive seen pics of them being...
