Changing from DOT 3 to DOT 5

I agree. I put my vote in for organic compound. I have a good line on super blue dot 4. It's what I've always used in all of my cars. The only reason it that I can periodically bleed the system till I get clean blue fluid. I like having some peace of mind when it comes to being able to stop.

my short ownership of a deuce

Oh yea I'm sure that bushing sqeaked in a bit. After my first mounting idea failed (the drillpress pic and the bracket cutting pics) I let my craftsmanship diminish for a moment when I was cutting the pipe, with a sawzall. So by the time I squared the cut end it came out a bit short. Can't wait...

my short ownership of a deuce

When I say full retail I mean I paid what that particular shop would charge anyone. Which I dont do that much locally. And I used one long bolt through both bottom mounting holes. I would have had to use a piece of round stock and drill and tap it out. Or mount two small pieces of pipe and weld...

Changing from DOT 3 to DOT 5

This is true. If I would of read this thread before my brakes went out I could of saved myself like $10 bucks! boy a little can of that Dot 5 is expensive. But when I was googleing "deuce brake fluid site:steelsoldiers.com" it didn't seem to show up. Oh well at least I noticed right away and was...

my short ownership of a deuce

Funny thing is that I was looking around for one of my old VW reseviors. but i cant seem to find one! I know I had a dozen of them somewhere. I have surely been busy. Productive... I'm on the fence about that one. I always have my eye open for another. But I really need a Dump truck. I...

my short ownership of a deuce

Thank you all. I am planning on a remote reservoir I just haven't decided on buying a kit or making one. I'm pretty sure the alternator was a 21si. I found a few threads talking about 21s, 22s, and 27s, and some lester brands so I called around to equipment shops and places like napa and no one...

    m35a3 air pack? free...

Found a rebuild kit for the new style. I guess I will keep it around. Thanks for not just taking it for free! I sure wish I would of gotten a new style rebuild to start with. It looks much more simple and thus better...

    m35a3 air pack? free...

Yea mine looks like the one in this picture. Its the older style? I cant seem to find diffrent styles of rebuild kits. Is this easily adaptable to my truck? It sure didnt look like it would of worked without re routing some lines and make some sort of mounting bracket

    m35a3 air pack? free...

So one of the things I got with my deuce was an extra air pack. So I thought. I planned on rebuilding it in my brake over haul instead of pulling the one from the truck. I tore it down gently and taking much care. When I opened my rebuild kit something seemed odd. I got under my truck and sure...

my short ownership of a deuce

Yep! But next time I will buy a 70000 mile 3000 hour rig.... Instead of a 7000 mile 300 hour truck. Ones that sit clearly ruin themselves horribly

Well thank you redbeard. Its still all fun to me. I will try a bit harder to study those TM's. But they do bore me to death. By the way how is the zombie hunting going? Ive been Z hunting for many years and as close as I've ever been is hippies. Meh one in the same

    Hello from NW Washington

I have been keeping an eye on the PNW thread. I sure wish it had its own category so there could be mulitple threads all under the PNW heading. Maybe someone with some rep can talk to a mod!

my short ownership of a deuce

So as a new member I would get every one caught up on what the last few weeks of my life have been like. After my 5 mile drive hime I decided to turn it around in the field. This was a mistake. It s#!+ stew out there. So after a few hours of screwing around and making a large mess and very...

Changing from DOT 3 to DOT 5

Not to hijack this but what is the chances that a '83 M35A2 would of had dot 3 in it when it came from surplus. The guy I purchased it from claimed It hadnt been converted to silicone. Well after a day if owning it the brakes went soft. The tranny tunnel says "HB brake fluid only" after only a...
