Wow. that looks great. On a side note, thanks for taking time to read member's questions and provide answers and opinions. It really helps us who have the ability to work on our MV's ourselves, but need a bit of reassurance or assistance from someone who has worked on these multiple times.
It gets said over and over, but one of the best things you can do is download the TM's and Parts Manuals. they have good diagrams for and instructions for you to get familiar with, before diving into a repair. They appear a bit overwhelming to begin with, but they are actually pretty easy to...
I used to own a Deuce with the Hercules multifuel. it ran great on waste motor oil or anything else. Does anyone know why other diesel engines don't use that engine design? I know it was a compensator valve that would adjust to fuel viscosity.
Check out the sticky posts at the top of the forum for some good tips on initial service items. Your best friend is also to download and become very familiar with the tech manuals.

Thanks for the advice. I will get into it and see what I have for sure. Most likely go with new seal kit and spindle nut kit as you suggest from bluehummer.
I definitely gave all the tm and part lists on my computer and have looked them over. I also have seen that link. I think I will just dig into it and see what happens.
I am planning on putting new seals (input and spindle) on the geared hubs. I have read the TM and this appears to be a pretty straight forward project. But a lot of things seem straight forward until you get into them. I do see that there is a special tool required to remove the nut on when...
My friend and I just purchased two hmmwv from Randall mn. Going to be some time but trying to get some logistics set up. My guess is not until proably March 2016 we will be looking for a good contact to bring 2 down to peoria. 1 starts and runs the other runs with jump start. Any contacts or...
My initial thought was walnut shells but defiantly do not want to ruin the doors...cost way too much. Anyone used walnut shells on the x doors and can for sure confirm. If not probably stick to elbow grease and sandpaper.
What is the best method for removing all the paint from outside of this door. A good bit is chipped and can just be peeled off. Most is stuck pretty good. I do not like the surface that is left if I leave part of the paint on there. Even with sanding you still can see and feel the difference...
go to the tech manual forum on this site. you are looking for the following TM's.
TM-9-2320-280-20-1
TM-9-2320-280-20-2
TM-9-2320-280-20-3
TM-902320-280-10
at one point I found that when I downloaded the manuals from that forum, I only received about 9 or 10 of pages of the complete manual...
My chocolate lab, Oliver, always rides with me in the cab. I usually crack the passenger windshield and roll down his window. the truck is his as much as it is mine. whenever I walk toward it, he goes nuts. gets in and out himself. he can even jump into the the back, when the tailgate is down.
