    M952 - New to Me

Very nice, congratulations on your elevation to a 5-ton. Good looking trucks, the only thing I would do is pull that explosives placard off the grill and mount it on the wall of the garage for a souvenir.

Virginia and surrounding areas ... spring get together

After thinking about this for the day, is it possible that the park thinks we're having some kind of car show, and will be inviting the public and charging admission? I don't why a group would need liability insurance, I've been to several events at parks, although not in Henrico county, and...

Virginia and surrounding areas ... spring get together

I've never heard of such crap. I see that Henrico county charges a shelter fee, that should cover any insurance requirements, since these parks are paid for by our tax dollars to start with. Looking through their paperwork, I would ask them exactly where it's said you need insurance for a...

Virginia and surrounding areas ... spring get together

Wow, for once a gathering that doesn't conflict with my work schedule...amazing. That date happens to fall on my sacred weekend of my 7-day break (sacred meaning I can't be called and forced to come in to work) so I'll definitely be there, with the deuce and M105 trailer (if parking is...

Here are a couple of pictures of my heater install in my deuce. I think I have the same heater. I used sheet metal angle mounts, screwed to the firewall.

24 Volt light wireing brain fart

I don't know what the current draw is for the lights, but make sure your switch is rated for it. I bought a 24V switch from RS that is rated for 50 amps. Check the continuity through your switch, that might be the problem (even if it's a new switch, it might have a defect).

Need Help with M747 trailer ANYONE Close?

Do you mean Newport NEWS Shipyard? The Newport Shipyard is in Rhode Island, not Virginia, but Newport News isn't in the Outer Banks of North Carolina either. Which ship are you trying to get it loaded on, and when is it supposed to leave?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I tracked down the reason I didn't have high beams on the left side of the truck. It wasn't hard to find the problem, just turned the lights on and wiggled the wires and the sparks showed me where the problem was. Anyway, untaped the wiring loom and fixed a couple of worn areas by cutting out...

    Looking for heater advice!

I got one of the jeep heaters srodocker recommended. It works great, but I had to disassemble/reassemble it so the discharge pointed towards the floor and not up into the dash. Bulkhead fittings to keep the rubber coolant hoses from running though holes cut in the firewall. Total cost was...

    Cooling question...

Normal operating temperature is about 185F. Depending on the outside temperature, if you're not putting a load on the motor, you may not get coolant temps up to normal. Last winter I had to put a piece of cardboard with a 10" circle cut out of the middle to help increase temperature. The...
