    Shackle Brackets

Will the brackets for the 1 inch pin shackles from a 5 ton fit in the same bolt holes on the bumper for the Deuce? I have 2 of the larger shackles with the pins, and don't have the brackets to see if they will bolt on the bumper or not. Thanks, Bo

M989A1 from Deridder LA to Tucson AZ, or store it in LA

Al, neither of my new to me trucks are safe, or road worthy at the moment. I just got them last week. I think what is needed is for someone to tow this trailer either to Deridder, or my place in Tioga. Thanks, Bo

M989A1 from Deridder LA to Tucson AZ, or store it in LA

I was at Garret's house yesterday. You are welcome to store it here at my place in Tioga, and Garret said you are more than welcome to store it at his place. I just don't have a truck able to tow anything right now. If someone can tow it, or you hire a tow company, either place is definatly an...

    Accessory switch power

I am working on the deuce, and apparently have no voltage going to my accessory switch. A lot of wires were cut before I got the truck, and I cannot find 24 volts anywhere under the dash, other than on the 2 "new wires" attached to the start button that someone ran.Where should the accessory...

    Deuce dash cluster

Well, the wires were definatly just cut at random. Started looking today, and there is a small bundle of wires that were cut, but I don't see any tags on them (unless I need to cut the tape back). How hard is it going to be to trace all of these wires, or should I just consider replacing the...

M989A1 from Deridder LA to Tucson AZ, or store it in LA

How long are you expecting to have to store it if left in Louisiana?

Just bought a pair of Deuces (Added Pictures)

Deuces are on the way home.. Made arrangements for a lowboy to back haul the two trucks from Fortworth area to my house (about 350 miles). They should be here around midnight tonight. I will try to get them over to Garret's place with my brothers trailer in the near future, so we can get started...

    MEP generator fuels

I also made bio-diesel for years. I think I will build a WMO filter similar to the one I had to filter my bio-diesel. I had 2 metal 55 gallon drums turned upside down, and plumbed from the bottom into 2 separate oil filters. I bought a cheap Harbor Freight clear water pump, and plumbed it...

    Aluminum vs. Steel MRAP

I was thinking that the lighter rims would be better. I don't plan on doing any serious mudding, or rock climbing, or anything like that. If nothing else, might make the tires and rims a little lighter to work with. Bo

    Aluminum vs. Steel MRAP

I will be looking to single out one of my Deuces, and have been searching for pros and cons for the aluminum and steel MRAP rims before trying to find some to buy. So far, I have found tons of information on all of the different style rims that you can put on the Deuce, but none relating to...

Just bought a pair of Deuces (Added Pictures)

Planning on making the trip to pick up the Deuces mid week next week. Going to head straight over to Garrets place to drop them off. He has graciously offered to assist me with getting them road worthy. Got some pictures of the data plates, and turbos last night.

Just bought a pair of Deuces (Added Pictures)

Well, It looks like I will be taking two trailers to Dallas to pick up the trucks myself. The quote I got for picking up both trucks was 3K. That is just not an option, and I think if we don't get in a hurry, me and my brother can pull them home without issue.

Thanks Welldigger, but I think I may have something worked out with HanksDeuce on a hood. If that falls through, I will give you a call. Bo

Just bought a pair of Deuces (Added Pictures)

I've been looking for almost a year, but could never seem to close on a deal. I found a guy in Dallas that has a few Deuces. We started talking and he started sending me pictures of his trucks. I finally decided that I would buy 2 of his winch trucks. One looks to be in very good shape and...

That just sounds like all sorts of fun.

    Deuce dash cluster

I am working on buying 2 winch trucks from a guy a few hours from me, and neither of the trucks have gauge clusters in them. He stated that the military cut them all out before he got them. Is this common practice now a days? Also, how hard is it to find complete clusters for the trucks, and are...

Missed out on a MEP-004A today

Not paying attention to the bid times, I missed out on a 15kw generator on a trailer today being auctioned less than an hour from my home. Hour meter read 17 hours, and everything looked to be in good condition. Wish I had paid closer attention to start and end time on the bidding, it sold for...

Best adhesive or adhering agent for weather stripping and door seals?

I actually work for Wilammette Valley/ Eclectic Products. We manufacture Goop, E-6000, and many other adhesives at my location. Goop and E-6000 are both very good adhesives. If you ever need a sample to try out, just let me know, and I can probably send out a tube or two.. Bo

    Fuel, contaminated, odd...

Yes, and it all depends on the PH of the oil you are using. I will have to look at my notes. My oil at the time came from one place, so I only had to check it every 8 or 10 batches to make sure it had not changed much.

    Fuel, contaminated, odd...

Jeepsinker, This might help for future issues. I made my own bio-diesel for about 3 years out of waste veggie oil. I had to "cook" it in a hot water tank, add a mixture of methanol and lye, and let it settle. After draining off the glycerin, I would pump it into a 55 gallon drum for washing...
