I sure had a great time. But the 8 1/2 hour ride in each direction was killer! I sure was glad Gimpy remembered to bring my springer which I installed rite away for the return trip home. I finally arrived home around 1900 hrs sunday nite. A big thanks to my deuce for hauling me around the east...
Jims' place is in Albemarle NC. Yeah Jim is a one of a kind character! His place is 30 min from the farm so a trip down that way once in a while to look around is cool. Then in the other direction I have Delks surplus about 10 minutes away. Jim is a knowledgeable and honest guy.

Have the turbo rebuilt. Who knows how long the used ones have been in use and what shape the seals are in. Rebuild it and have a little piece of mind. Sounds like you only lost a shaft seal it could have been worse and cost you a new motor-WHY TAKE THE CHANCE!
This is just my opinion.

Until the snow gets packed on the road they will do ok at around 20-25 psi but I'll never do it again. I wouldn't even do it with chains! If you end up in the ditch imagine how hard it will be to get it out or $$$$$$$$$$$! And why take the chance of smashing into somebody else it just isn't...
There's absolutely no reason to put any grease in the between cavity. If you have plenty of extra grease to get rid of then go for it. Either way it wont help or not help the bearings. In my thinking I would think it would just help retain the heat in the hubs. Been working on heavy equip for 25...
Xylene has a little slower dry time than acetone but you can use whatever you want. I've been doing this for 25 years and just saying that experience is a great teacher.[thumbzup]
You did say semi-gloss didn't you! You could try thinning it with acetone. I use acetone as it evaporates really quick and seems the quicker it dries the flatter it will be. This is my experience!
Hope this helps some.

does anybody have cucv antenna mounting brackets and the brushguard to wrap around them? I would be interested in a couple if there are any out there.

If anyone has an abandoned or broken deuce airhorn lying around one of my horns came unscrewed and dropped out on the road somewhere and it sounds kinda funny with just one. If you could bring one I would gladly pay you for it.
Thanks

I agree but I also pull the can off the airpack once a year and clean it out
and apply a silicone grease to the can and o-ringseal on the piston. I also put the oil in the airline. So far never had an airpack malfunction.

Maybe try a fuel filter would be where I started on mine and look for any vacuum leaks. Also may need to test your glow plugs and see if any are burnt out. If they are replace them all!

I usually fill until I can see it in the neck. Then on the next drive it will blow out what it doesn't want. But as a norm all my trucks will maintain a slight level in the neck.
