I bought my A3 over a year ago. The price you see is quite often not the actual price. If you add one auction to your watch list you can get the real final price. Add 10% buyers comission and sales tax. So the final price is 15-19% more.
Then you have to get it home. Hauling is spendy...
A year ago, I finally retrieved my A3. I had it serviced, took it on a test drive and then drove it 2300 miles to my house with no problems. The truck used almost a quart of oil. I am into the entire thing about 7K including the recovery. I got a truck that is was 10 years old, meaning...
There are a couple of A2's from ym old unit waiting to be sold, I'm going to bid on one of them whenever they finally decide to part with them. I actually found a guy here with a truck from my unit so I wasted an email telling him. He seemed more upset than happy to hear it? go figure.
I...
I had a choice of truck and I picked an A3. Unlike some in the A2 crowd I am not on here running them down 24/7 for their choice. I've logged thousands of miles in an A2 and opted for an upgrade. So I have actual experience with both trucks. That being said, I gained my experience in the...
Let's see your tool bag fix the hole in the side of the block after you dial up the fuel and the guts blow out of your magic engine.
For all the "expert" advice available here, I find it interesting that so many people comment on A3's when they have never owned, driven or in most cases ever...
Multifuel is such a flaming success that it is used in no over the road, trucks, generators or heavy equipment currently used anywhere in the world. Cat engines and heavy equipment on the other hand can be found everywhere. in the world.
Why is everyone feeling sorry for this thief all of a sudden?
Maybe his personal demons had a lot to do with the fact he was a scumbag? "Losing" a truck after a guy drives hours to pick it up is a rotten thing to do. Doing it over and over to dozens of people shows a pattern of criminal...
Go to the regular Deuce section, it is covered and cried about over and over. In a nutshell, the Army questioned the number of useful parts on the three trucks and expected some to be so worn they were not rebuildable. Therefore you used three trucks to make two.
In reality, the trucks were...
There is a cost study of the A3 program out there somewhere. They delivered three trucks that turned out to be in very nice condition for the most part. I went thru the entire list of trucks and about 1 in 10 had close to 100K miles, the rest were pretty low miles trucks. In return they got two...
I'm running Dex in mine with zero problems. The first thing I did after picking the truck up was service the trans, drop the pan and replace both the internal and external filters. The temps dropped considerably.
Good luck on the road trip. I toook mine over 2000 miles to get it home with not problems at all. The tire exploding guy had a dry rotted old tire from God knows where on an A2. If you have tire concerns, look at the amount of weather checking and the date codes on the tires. I had two new...
I ran my A3 thru a foot of snow to get it out onto the road a few weeks ago, it did fine with just the rears, better with all axles engaged. On slippery roads it was not a lot of fun but ran great. I think dumping a yard of gravel in the back would help with its snow performance.
