I wouldn't run a leak stop. If you just want to (try) fix the leak without concern of other items in the system being reduced performance or problems you can do that. I would only use it on a rig that I don't care about. Half the time the result is you are diving back in to fix it the correct...
Grinding, not a whirring noise? Usually excessive backlash on the ring and pinion makes a whirring sound on decel.
Grinding, might be a bearing like you mentioned. Maybe one that is loaded under acceleration and slack on decel. Pinion and output shafts is worth inspecting. Moving the yoke up...
Wondering,
do these engines build decent pressure during cranking? Could use that start inhibit switch by the fuse panel to allow it to crank and not start. Not sure what the minimum amount of oil is to get to the oil pump pick up.
I haven't used that switch yet, but that's what came to mind...
I'm in WA. Not a 900 series, but have the M1090 dump truck. If it helps you are more than welcome to get your eyes on it, or just ask what you need to know. I can pull deminsions from pivot points etc, diameters etc.
From what I've seen the dump kits seem to work really well in the youtube vids...
Mine was also 5 solid lights. From others and what I read, it's dead. I hadn't read about a way to reset with computer.
After calling around (a few sites are still listed as in stock) with no luck, I decided to go with one of the custom units @Plasa makes. He has a couple options. He will be...
Got the tires today. I had the same feeling when the truck showed up. " Whoa, This is much bigger than I expected" 😁
Hoping to find some more info on the HEMTT rims.
I've been happy with the ride of the old tires. Hoping to get the same if better with these. Looking at doing the antifreeze...
Stock M1090 dump truck. No long term logs yet. I should have topped off before I left. Truck had an eighth of a tank consumed during shop time, fluid changes and repairs.
Truck scale weight with full tank and driver, co-driver. (no doors 🤔)

Curious if there could be a sticky at the beginning of the thread, with a list of the members that sign up by state?
Would be cool to see by state how many are there, and who is close to you.
The thread works good for letting people know you are available for contact, but tough to go through...
I've made plenty of drives multiple states to pick up rigs from insurance auctions. (single guy with buddies) When I won mine I was planning on rallying the supplies and dragging the wife and kids on a "road trip". After the advice of the members I decide to get it delivered.
The oil is only...
Yea, was referring to Steyr parts, cab stuff from a European website. Didn't know if it was something common.
I'll probably fab what I need. Might be just as easy to do a 2-3" lift block on the front spring to get the extra clearance.
Thanks for the replies.
Did a little digging on the specs. Looks like the 12m18 cab sits 15" taller. At 10' 5". The springs being taller and potential cab mounted higher I believe.
I like the extra clearance for the front tire, and I like the rear part of the front fenders.
Is there a common source for parts, other...
Are the frames the same? Maybe it's the tires that throw me off on some of them. I've seen the do have cab suspension. After watching a video of a Steyr with fenders/ grille etc removed. It looked like the pivot was on a riser from the frame.
I think ours is pretty much on top of the frame.
I'll plug this in now since it's perfect the way it is. Might not have doors and is a little windy on the hwy (Jeep style AC) but easy access cab up or down.
Everyone is correct on the amount of attention and conversations.
Glad to be apart of a great group.
The work horse.
The cables from the batteries go directly to the Polarity Protection Device mounted behind/under spare tire. Two top studs, bottom studs are 12v/24v in and out. I don't recall what voltage is on what side. I believe they are labeled. The cables continue to be power distribution panel (pdp/ dash)...
Does the cab of the Steyr sit higher than the Fmtvs? I seen a video of a build and it looks like there are risers from the frame at the tilt/pivot points.
