Hey all, yeah as the title says can i get new parts for the receptacles? Or find used stuff somewhere or just sell them to someone who would like to fix them up, all are options.
Someone mentioned how fast they go up when crude raises but also how slow they come back down. I would bet there are a big percentage of stations that don't wait until they have run out of there current inventory before they raise the price. We had one close to here that was guilty of that and...
That's a nice crane there, only I can picture a few oil execs hanging there by there you know what's. After all it would only be fair, they have always got a hold of ours.
That's exactly right, we need to get together and we could if we really wanted to bad enough. But there are to many with the attitude we can't do anything. It's a good thing they didn't think that way when this country first started or we wouldn't be having this discussion right now. Our...
I never thought i'd see the day it costs as much to fill a gas can as it used to take to fill my car. Gas just went to $3.27 here in town and diesel has actually come down a few cents to $2.88, it all seems kind of strange seeing the wholsale price has dropped for the past straight 10 days. I...
I just put in a CD player, one wire to switched ignition in the fuse panel and the other one to a constant 12 volt source. Put Alpine box speakers that were made to sit behind a seat, sounds really nice and can drown out the engine noise very well.
I was driving my 1028 to work for a while before diesel went up so high. 55 miles round trip, however I did get get a cd player for it, I'm not a good enough singer to go that many miles and have to listen to myself. But It has the stock tires yet and I drive at least 55 but nothing more than...
yeh i'll try that, the TM I have doesn't say anything about glow plug failure. So then what if they do heat up doing that then what. Glad someone knows these things. Ive changed the card and the relay allready with my truck that works.
Just a quick question about glow plugs on a 1008. I have one I'm parting out but it still is in running condition. However the glow plugs seem to not be working since the light doesn't come on and no click from the relay. I have power at the top post on the relay next to the master cylinder and...
Thanks i'll check into it. Mine had the 6tmf in it. Not that it needs it, just thought it would be kind of cool to have them big ole things in there and be original.
I may have found the knock today, I was loosening injector lines to see which hole was missing and it seems number 3 loosened up makes the noise go away even when reved up. I guess we'll try some new injectors.
This truck is one I'm parting out and when I got it the IP was off and laying in the cab. I just put it all back together to see if it would run or not. There was a service record in it talking of an engine knock, so I just figured let's see if it's true or not. Believe it or not I did manage...
Well it seems that is not the problem, I traded relays and still nothing. There is power only on the top input terminal even with the key on. What do I need to look at next.
RE: compushift...
Hey that's a nice looking trans you got there. I have to ask though why the 4l80, I'm going to take the lazy way for my 1028 and use a 700. It'l do everything I need it to do and then some, I'll even be able to tow in 4th when I'm done and I doubt the ole 6.2 has enough power...
I have a question about that big resistor on the firewall, I was trying to get the last one of my fleet running and checked the glow plug relay and there is 24 volts there. And yes it doesn't work, am I to assume that the resistor is bad and therefore took out the relay. My 1028 has the glow...
