The guy wanted $12 each for them so I offered $20 for both and he accepted. I am going to clean them up a bit and fill with water to see if there are leaks. I suspect the one dated 1952 has a leak since its a bit oily on the bottom. If no leaks then I will finish cleaning, paint and then use...
I am looking at wiring a permanent 50amp outlet on my MEP-803A. I know the mep has overload protection but should I also have the 50amp outlet setup with a breaker/disconnect or just rely on the mep's interrupter switch/circuit?
An interesting thing...my 803 is quieter than my 8kw air cooled screamer! I can't believe the 802 is any louder than the 803. But then I'm not sure how picky your neighbors are!
I would direct wire into the actual lugs and not rely on the fender ground (Someone else here recommended that to me) as there might be paint that could prevent a good ground. There actually should be a ground wire running from the lug to that terminal...if not then it's been removed. A ground...
Here's an article that should help clear this up as to how a 50amp (and 30amp) RV is wired.

30 amp is 120 volt single pole and 50 amp is 120/240 volt split phase.
I did my (not so) scientific check on all the space heaters and the wattage they actually pull. The following is what I found for each heater:
1356
1376
1362
1380
1396
1351
1441
1424
--------------------------------------------------
11086 total wattage draw (46.192 amps)
So now I know which...
Thanks for the advice...it is greatly appreciated! I will do some testing with each individual space heater and see what each one draws...mark it on them then I will have an actual draw.
I will need to start with the actual individual space heaters I would expect in order to be accurate. I really don't know if each one is actually pilling 1500 watts but will be easy to check. Thanks for the input!
Couldn't you use an exhaust hose available from the big auction site or google search for them? Seems like it would be easy to plumb the exhaust opening and slip an exhaust hose on....
Does this link mean that a military vehicle older than 25 years old that meet this criteria can be licensed? "Military wheeled (non-tracked) ground vehicles capable of operating on public highways at normal highway speeds, in most cases without escort, up to an dincluding 5-ton variants."
