I doubt GL is bidding both sides of an item. Somebody else has to bid against them for the price to be rising. It takes two fools to overpay or one fool and an auctioneer.
I was standing around at the Ford dealership either dropping off or picking up something and I asked the service manager what was the best way to insure good service. He said it always helps to be polite. If a customer comes in raising h*ll and being an *sshole they don't care if it gets fixed...
I took my wc radiator to a shop in Dillon SC and he said to recore it would be somewhere above $500 and he didn't recommend it because the top and bottom looked too thin. $450 sounds high for a rodding out but I havn't had it done in many years. I would try to get another price somewhere else.
When I took my deuce paperwork to DMV I said I just want a title.
She said "if you are not getting a tag you have to bring it to be inspected for Serial #.
Me: I thought you would go look at it.
She: We don't do that anymore.
Me: I can't drive it here because I wasn't planning to insure it. I...
The problem is the govt. does not even want the truck, they just don't want the public to have it either. It will probably be used for target practice or scrapped or allowed to rust into the ground. Just another example of good govt.
Hey B4thundr, your truck is super. Its especially nice to get everything out of the weather. Here is the wash tank I put on my truck. It is a cheap plastic tank from the farm supply store. I welded a nipple on the bracket and ran a hose to the nipple and faucet. The tank could be put anywhere as...
Looks very good. I also use 2.5 gal. chem jugs to transport hyd & engine oil, antifreeze and water. I finally mounted a 10 gal. tank with a faucet to wash my hands and its nice.
Sounds like a fantastic vacation. A friend did it on a harley two summers ago and went from SC to Washington state and caught the ferry up the inside passage and came back through the canadian rockies. He highly recommends both of these sights. The ferry might be a good way to rest your butt...
This is not the best view but you can see the driveshaft on the right going to the foward rear axle and the left shaft drives the rear rear axle by going over the other axle.

Here is an orange oval window, a green rectangular sliding window, and a red rectangular non sliding window. I read the oval top is from a WWII truck that is adapted to the M37 and the sliding window is the correct top. My questions are:
What about the rectangular window that does not slide...
The seller said the previous owner bought it from the fire dept about 15 years ago and drove it a few years. Its been sitting for 10+ years. The brakes are bad and the exhaust valves are sticking open. The sheet metal is good. I took the head off and will clean the valves, rebuild the carb, and...
I'll try to do some pics, I have questions about the top. It fits very good but has a rectangular rear glass with rounded corners. Does not slide open. Is this military? It also has a wooden shelf or support above the windshield on the inside. Its a 1962 model. I also have two 1952 m37's for...
Well I bought it. Went and got it Monday. 820 miles round trip in one long day. Smooth recovery. Sorry no pics. Still has all military lights, heater, winch, non military hard top, plus all the firefighting gear. Its a M37B1.

Don't worry about getting one. Almost all the ones around now will still exist in a year or two unless scrap prices go through the roof. There may be more of a glut then than now. And GL is not the enemy. All of my experiences with them have been good. But you do have to know the system they...
Thinking about it some more I think it was 6719 that had the fuel problem. Sorry I am making things clear as mud. The truck with the fuel problem was backed up near the fence and the other truck not running was nearer the middle of the yard. If you saved your pictures that may help.
If my memory is correct that is a truck Tim tried to start but had no luck due to a fuel problem he suspected. I looked at all the winch trucks on that sale but skipped #6722 because he had no luck getting it to run. It is not just a battery problem. This is not good news but maybe it is still...
