Alternate Use of the Multi-Fuel Engine????

The LDT 465 with C turbo is supposed to be 134 HP and 330 TQ. The LDS 5 ton engine is supposed to be 200-210HP. I am not sure of the TQ. This is off the top of my head. I will do some searching.

DOD Special Agent wants to see my truck

Read the third paragraph. That's what we all have to comply with. I would suggest if anyone scraps a Demil code Q item to take pictures of the scrap and keep them in a file.

    M-35 5 speed spicer 3053a swap to 5 ton'?s

Just use the clutch disk that would go with the 3053 tranny. Since it is smaller than the 5 ton clutch it should fit inside the pressure plate. Only problem should be if it is thinner than the bigger disk and would not engage the flywheel/pressure plate.

serious discussion of 5-ton speed increase via gearing (transmission, differential)

So maybe a compromise. Some 46 inch 395-80R20's and a newer tranny out of a semi truck like a 10 speed with an overdrive ratio like you want.

5 ton dump truck adventure ready to start

Congratulations on the truck fireing up. SWEET!!!!!! I know man. I get impatient too. And if the fluids are topped off I kick it in the guts just to see what I have. And you gotta do what you gotta do. Sooner or later you have to drive it. If that means the brake fluid is topped off and...

    fail-proofing full hydro steering

www.aviationtoday.com/av/issue/.../Power-By-Wire_12671.html en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro-hydrostatic_actuator They are now called EHA's or Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators. This is all part of the "Power by wire" systems being developed and now implemented into aircraft...

A few questions about speed and gearing

OK. For mud slinging ability you need HORSEPOWER. Torque moves the work. Horespower sustains the work. You need both to some degree. If you just have torque and not much horsepower you will be able to move the tires through most anything but not be able to light up the tires to sling mud. If...

    Extreme Trucking

Sorry about the vids. I tried to directly upload them and the site times out before I can get that done. And understandably so. They are big files. I tried to log onto YouTube and something is wrong with my login. I don't know what and I have not taken the time to fix it yet. My bad. Maybe...

    M35A2 un-insurable

Good job. Way to be persistient. How much did they ding you for the DWAI if you don't mind me asking? It might be good for everyone to be reminded of how much it costs to make a mistake like you did. I know other people that got a DWAI and they will NEVER do it again. The overall costs of...

    Extreme Trucking

You can use the s280 shelter or you can bob a deuce with a M-105 bed as the bed of the truck. Then you can still put the s280 in the truck and have better turning radius and such........There are too many ways to do this. that's why i love it so much. To each their own.

    Lets See Your 5-Ton!

Got some pictures of the tractor with a wildfire smoke filled sunset the other day. They usually turn a brilliant orange red when this happens but this one kind of petered out. I still got some decent shots though. BUMP!

    M37 tailgate value

I put up pics in your tailgate and bumper post. I heard a while back that Vintage Power Wagons was about the only "supplier" that had tailgates and they are getting $550. I have not checked on that directly to confirm.

A couple questions, Tailgate, Front Bumper

My pics did not load with the last post. With winch, without winch and tailgate. Best i can do at 2 a.m. I needed to take out the garbage anyway. If you need different let me know. Oh yeah. I have been finding springs with leafs added like that a lot lately. Looks like there were leafs cut to...

A couple questions, Tailgate, Front Bumper

Correct front bumper and shackle brackets. They could have had something bolted in the bolt hole you show for the brush guard. The lower grille piece is way short for having no winch and I don't have that piece on my truck with the winch. It looks like the angle iron will interfere with the...

    Part availability for M37

Vintage Power Wagons is another source. You may want to think about buying a parts truck if you have the space for it so you can rob whatever you need when you need it.

    Question
