Wont be able to get there until Friday after work.
Eric, my understanding is an Air Gunnery Range visit thursday, and a base tour friday. Check with Dave or Bob for the details
As mentioned try a different SOS office.
Had this problem with my M887. Every year they send me the renewal form, stating I owe $150. Its not commercial, so it should be $55. Every year I dispute it, and they change it back.
This year they wouldn't, she said just pay it blah, blah blah. Went...
So who has done this swap? Everythng seems straight forward, really just looking for a spec on setting the preload of the knuckle with 2 bearings, instead of the bushing/brearing setup that was factory.
Everything I have found says "wing it, you'll know when its right".
IIRC, my '71 CJ5 uses...
Thanks Tuko, thats what I was looking for.
I guess its up to you. After some thought, I decided to send them in and have Joe machine them, since he has the jigs and has done them before. For $120 an axle plus shipping, I can't do the job my self and be ahead.
So after hoping to get by with just bolting the disc brakes on and repacking the wheel bearings, I found the pass side needed new kingpins, as the tire had a goofy wear pattern to it, and the lower kingpin is loose.
After reading the TM, it calls out for a brass/bronze upper cone, and a lower...
Have some M37 parts for sale,
New master cylinder, brake springs, wheel cylinder rebuild kits, used brake shoes, a complete set of backing plates with everything still on them and a set of drums. Converting to 4 wheel disc brakes, so I don't need this stuff.
Set of doors, one new NOS pass...
I think we're going to be there early Sat morning. I'm riding down with Dave, and Google has to work. Sat night is Veterens night at the speedway, so we have to be back in time for that. I'll let you know when I have a more set time. Oh, don't worry about them axles, not in a hurry for em, its...
Looking for an Oil Pressure Gauge for a Hobart Welder, stock equipment in a M887. Thought maybe Jeff would have one.
What about them 900x16 NDT's? How much you getting for them?
I forgot I had it until he asked about em. I then remembered making mine fit, which led to remembering I bought 2 70's era tailgates at the Pick and Pull. Looked today, sure enough, there it sits in the rafters of the Shop. If he dosent want it, then I offer the same deal to you, Bob.
You're right. When Dodge changed body styles in '81, the latch mechanism changed with it. The tailgate still fits, just won't latch.
I installed a 70's era tailgate on a '93 box, and welded u-bolts to the box so it would latch.
I believe you can get the striker pins from dorman, but any...
Its the rear output shaft seal. It may still be a good seal, just a little bit of fluid pushes past it when everything warms up.
When I had my M1009, it did this on long trips, especially when towing.
Check your t-case vent to make sure its open. Even if it is, it may still leak. Common problem...
I just went through this with my M37. From my understanding, the 3 pos switch is no longer avalible, and hard/exspensive to find. I ended up using a 4 pos switch, but bought an adapter harness from Vintage Wiring when I bought the rest of my harness.
Good Luck
Wow, I hope he knows what he's in for. Been planning this swap with my M887 for a year or so now. Most of the time been trying to figure out how to run everything without the computer, reliably.
Will be cool if/when he finishes it. If he decides to sell it instead, pm me. Always looking for...
Found some M37 side panels, the ones under the hood, above the fenders. Also a duece/M37 windshield frame. Good shape, except for a couple of drilled holes. Only one glass, cracked.
Looking for 2 M37 headlights, 1 new M37 brakelight.
If anybody is interested in anything I have, let me know...
I just went through this trying to find a brown similar to the one used in 383 color scheme. After going to all the super centers and building centers, I have yet to find a brown that was anywhere close to the Gilliespie brown.
I settled on a Rustolium Flat Brown I found at the local farm...
