my bad. I gave you the number for the guy in Foxborough, brainfart... will get the number for RM Constantineau shortly.
UPDATE: here is his number - 867-6071. Not sure what area code, either 413 or 508. His cell number is 774 200 3649.
Also it looks like I spoke too soon... I will be the...
His phone number is 508 384 7698, ask for Robert Stahl. I haven't been there yet but hoping to head over tomorrow before I go to the MV show and see if he has anything I need. Depending on his price for an LDS465 I may pick up a spare because mine is worrying me and I would love to find a...
You know what's funny? A friend of mine actually gave me Robert Stahl's business card last Thursday while I was at the show. I am going to drop by and see if he has any parts I need... speaking of which NEXT THURSDAY be there or be square! Unless I have some amazing luck and more time than I...
haha yeah that's the boat I'm in. The vote in my other club is darn close to tied too. I guess I might just end up going two weekends in a row... such a pity... we'll see.
EDIT: PS, the other club is NAXJA. Your 2000 would be right at home.
I would fish plate as well. Cut a plate to go across each butt weld, bore holes ~3x plate thickness in a few well chosen spots on each side of the butt weld, then rosette and perimeter weld the plate down.
Fully agreed. If my truck is involved in a rollover, it is a lost cause to try and...
Those are the best for me, and also the best for my club (our vote tied on those two.)
I went through the thread and combined everything:
1st-2nd: works for tlauden (1 person)
8th-9th: works for tlauden, USAWEAPON777 (2 people)
15th-16th: works for tlauden, shenkmen, USAWEAPON777, MAXM37...
you can generally find one within 4 inches or so of the right length. They have sizes all the way from 6 inches to 6 feet in 4-6 inch increments. If you can't find one the right length, you can always do what some jokingly call an "okie loop" in a longer line (i.e. put a loop in the longer...
My double flaring tool is whatever brand they sell in the plumbing aisle at Home Depot. At least the clamp and the press are. They only sell a single flaring tool. I combined it with the double flaring buttons/dies out of a harbor freight double flaring kit (the rest of it was worthless) and...
yup that's the one. didn't know about a JY over there! A good friend of mine from my jeep club lives just on the other side of the stadium from where you are talking about.
I checked the boneyard, it is R M Constantineau Auto Salvage at 649 Podunk Rd in East Brookfield. There are some DJ-5s and assorted older and newer trucks but only one MV that I could find, I am fairly certain it was an M211. Rough shape and not much to be salvaged off it, but worth wandering...
My XJ/MJ (Cherokee/Comanche) club (NAXJA) has a poll up right now concerning when they will be at RC. Last year it was the same weekend you guys were there and I was stuck in Colorado on business. This time I am going to be there in either the 5 ton or my Comanche, not sure which yet, the...
I have been considering rerouting mine into the intake (between the air filter and the turbo) also, since it spits a decent amount of oil occasionally. Probably will do so when reassembling next time I have the top end apart.
I suggest locking the diffs or getting better tires before doing this.
But hey, it's your truck.
Me I HATE mud, eats up brake pads and seals and makes fixing things no fun. 2cents
updates, in no particular order:
* I am probably buying 6 395/85r20 Michelin XMLs from patracy as soon as my bonus check comes in.
* the blasted head gasket blew again! I blame the old style gasket I had to use in a pinch, and possibly did not clean the mating surfaces well enough, though I...
1. it was CHEAP ($2500, plus about 1k in repairs done so far)
2. I was looking for a deuce years ago for no real reason. Last year I got the idea to buy one and build ramps to use it to haul my 4-wheeling jeep everywhere instead of dropping 10k+ on a fullsize pickup and another few grand on a...
I might be there but won't have the 5 ton :( head gasket's acting up again (darn old style gasket!) and I just plain don't have time to fix it before then.
I definitely need to pick up a couple more jerry cans and spouts (preferably 1 more spout than jerry cans, mine came without) so I will...
