What you have is a typical Hop from most Twin axel trucks. Older trucks with Walking beam suspensions, especially. I have driven many Commercial trucks that do the same thing. Especially at speeds about 45mph to 52 mph. I assume it is the lack of Perfect Ballancing of not just tires but the...
I have a parts deuce 1970 complete, BAD TRANS. Good runner. What is a Dropside bed worth, EXCELLENT cond? Also I have a buyer for the turbo, $650.00 a good price? I do hate to PART an engine, but gotta recover some expences. All is going. PM me for what you need. Phil
Elvis, I shall check, one of my neighbors had one for sale a few months ago for $2500.00. I thought it was too much. I will see about it tomorrow. Phil
I haven't worked on a 6.2 in 20years. I did have a glo plug break and drop into cylinder. Had to change head. What would happen if engine was to be cranked, would the tip from glo plug get blown out of its area? Sounds too easy though!!!??? Good luck Phil
This is what I do with all my vehicles, Old Ones anyway. Take a Self drilling screw and a small O ring on the screw. Find the Lowest spot on fuel tank and screw it in. osen it to drain any Water, and Retighten it. Simplest way to remove water in tank, and save on your filtrs. Good luck. Phil
Not so complicated to do. Just weld another frame section taken from a BOBED Deuce, about 4ft.,add single spring set up, but adjust it so Rear axel is UP when empty, and Down with load. No need for a Disconnect drive shaft. Watch for FUTURE pics.!!!???
You don't do any good putting Diesel in the intake. Gotta go through the injectors. That is where Black smoke is comming from . Could also bend a connecting rod if too much fuel . Crack the injector lines and bleed them. see if there is fuel comming out the last return line. Keep at it until you...
OK all New England MV owners and friends, The date for the First MV Rally, Gathering, Get Together or What ever??!! Date is Aug. 7-8 all day Sat. to include Parade at OLD HOME DAY. All welcome evening of the 7th to help and socialize. Plenty of space, running water," as long as the Spring...
Why not take diameter measurements and get a Shorty muffler from parts store. I have in my garage a Muffler or Resonator, about 8 to 12inches long I was going to put on my Detroit diesel, but desided not too. Cost about $30.00.
Be sure all connections are good and clean and tight. Be sure both alt. are grounded good. Maybe alt. is not charging. Have someone else check it. I have an Alt. that is Over charging. Maybe we can Swap!!?? I shall change mine tomorow. One set of Batts. have been coocked already. Good thing I...
sounds like all is working. As long as you have more than 12 volts, all should be OK. Run it for a while and see if voltage stays up, or does it drop below 12 volts. Good luck, Phil
I would try some new Diesel, add diesel conditioner, and be sure air passages are clear. Timing is difficult . I am assuming this is a Deuce, or a M1008, regardless, same diff. Clean fuel filters and air cleaner. Be sure to check all Duct work, in case some Critter built a home in the Duct.
OK guys,{and gals}, I am planning a Gathering of MV here in Salisbury, N.H., sometime in Aug. . Will post exact date later. If all goes well there will be a Parade included nearby. I had a great time this week end in Maine and met some great people. It's time we have another Gathering in this...
Talk about Mayberry, I gotta share this. I got an old,1970 Detroit GMC log truck I use around here to haul my firewood to my Processor. Well on my way to the Pick up site, I really Opened up the Detroit. Oh, I forgot to mention No muffler, just Strait pipe. Well I gets up to about 11 or 12th...
BC, I have an Aux. tank in my Deuce. I strapped a 60 Gal Tank from a Semi and just ran a line through the bed, removed the Plug on the tank and screwed the line in there. I just use a Manual shut off in the bed. When tank gets cokse to E, I just open the valve and Watch your fuel gauge gomUP as...
