    Hard Top Redo

Once apon a time: a long, long time ago a friend told me about how his father fixed the holes inflicted from the hazards of WWII. He would braze in patches of heavy brass screen into the holes, and then hammer and dolly into shape. Then, he would melt brass to fill the holes in the screen by...

How to make a Hard Top ???

Has anybody ever made their own homemade hard top? My rag top was long gone before I bought it, and it looks like a strong brake metal tool could bend up a hefty top.

    Oil or Dexton in tranny???

Goop I gave up on Transmission fluid, ATF, and Gear Lube a long time ago. Now I use Lucas Oil Stabilizer. It works great for Automatics, and Manual transmissions alike. I also use it for replacement oil for the rear-end, and transfer case. I like the way it makes everything run smooth...

    Indented Hex Head Bolts

Fastenal Home | Fastenal If Fastenal dose not have it I guess you could try Ace hardware. Fastenal has a catalog that is about 3" thick, and they give it away for free.

    Indented Hex Head Bolts

Awww, those indents are only good for collecting mud, and grease. They are bugger to clean but to each there own.

M109a3 -AC anyone installed a AC unit

I have two lines of thought: you could use an A/C unit from a RV, or a camper. I would sit nicely on top of the cab, and it is not too hard to install. Then there is always the boxy Reefer unit. It runs on its own fuel supply. It seems the term overkill is what these trucks will need.

    stuck oil drain plug?

Whenever possible, I switch out the old drain plug for a brass pipe plug. And, I always wrap Teflon tape around the threads before I reinstall the plug. If a part is really stuck, I whack it with a hammer to loosen the rust, and I use a propane torch to apply a little heat. However, ditto...

    Having a fuel tank made

I have always wanted to use a set of beer kegs for saddle tanks. I even thought I could add an air line to pressurize it in case my fuel pump brakes. Do you think a stainless steel keg would be better than an aluminum one? I guess it will take more than a keg tap for the supply lines.

    Roll over protection?

Temper, Temper I have had a wee bit of trouble snapping grade 8 bolts in twain. The harder the metal the more brittle it becomes. I really like the holding strength of a grade 8 bolt, they are ultra strong. However, I do not trust them when they take a hit from the side. I have snapped way...

Crazy Arab Guys, Snorkel on MV

I am so surprised that he didn't need a set of exhaust stacks to accomplish this feat. I learned my lesson the hard way! Water backed up my tail-pipe, and killed my engine. Truthfully, it was only a Chevy pickup with a 6.2L with a snorkel but it did teach me a little more about water hazards.

    36x12.50 Wrangler R/T II Tires

Rim Size? I have only seen these tires in a 16.5 rim size. It is a hard to find wheel, and was issued oem of a Ford pickup, Hummer 2, and maybe a few custom wheel selections. So don't quote me on this because there may be more, but only in a 8-Lug as far as I know. Ebay had huge stacks of...
