Allstate Towing Insurance
Allstate road side assistance package is a bit better than AAA for towing.
I haven’t had need of it yet, but I signed up for the RV plan.
The RV plan has unlimited towing mileage: however, it is not for commercial vehicles...
Add-on Transmission Information
Ford Super Duty 4R100 Transmission - Four Wheeler Magazine
When it comes to heavy hauling, most people would agree that the Ford Super Duty platform is probably the most favored of the bunch. Since its inception, annual sales have been staggering at...
There seems to be some talk about the OEM Engines, and transmissions installed in the Deuce.
I haven’t read anything about people doing any conversions yet so I thought I would just ask.
Hey!!! Any of you doing any great conversions???
I have seen the Bob Jobs, the disk brakes...
Check for a out of round tire with a bump in it, or a bent rim. I would bet you have a bent rim. Have somebody follow you, and look at the wheel wobble.
PS. You might want to check to see if your Lug-Nuts are still tight.
Looking Good!!!
I got mine from a local fire department, and it has also been painted yellow.
I plan to do a jab, and dab camo effect with a round paint brush. Ace Hardware has all the camo paint; but only in gallons.
Extra info:
When I use a polyurethane overcoat, it hardens up the paint...
Has anybody around here ever installed a Tilt Steering Column in a Deuce?
I am a bit of a prude when it comes to steering wheel comfort.
Many times there has been mention of installing a hydraulic steering system in a Deuce.
I like that ideal! All the information seems to point to...
I just learned this:
Micron Dexron III, II, I is not a synthetic oil.
Only the ATF brands are synthetic.
You might not like this, but I have been using Lucas Stabilizer in all my transmissions for years.
I go about 50/50 with an SAE-30 for automatics, and manual transmissions. It works!!!
I...
Cheap spin-on adapter
I was bouncing around the internet, and I found out that "Mr. Gasket" makes a lot of spin-on adapter rings for around $12.oo
I have no ideal which one will fit a Deuce, but I like the price.
Oil Magnet
Magnetic Drain Plugs were once all the rave.
I guess it is a JC. Whitney thing.
My idea is to magnetize the Dip-Stick; this way I will be able to remove the magnetic debris with every viewing, and it is nice to do a viewing with every whim.
It's the same with automatic...
I like the Rotella 15W40 with a quart of Lucas stabilizer, and a quart of synthetic oil.
The quart of synthetic makes it much easier to start the engine in the winter.

I have been to Dodge City: twice; you are right: it is a long way!
I have driven by a few used Military car lots in Colorado.
I know of nothing in Kansas, or Oklahoma.
I have looked all over the web for the location to some military auto junk yards.
There is a lot of misdirection, and endless searches.
It would be nice to have a list of yards in each state that civilians are allowed to visit.
apologies
I have trouble understanding things sometimes. I got caught up in a vision of what type of tow-bar that is being used to tow a Deuce. I have seen a Military a military tow-bar in a picture once. I have tried to buy one but they cost so much, and they are not an easy item to locate...
The Last Row To Hoe
Thanks Josh!
I figure to start out with 3 blocks: see how it goes, and then up the weight by one more ton each trip until it gets scary: then back off that last ton so I feel safe.
It is only a 10 mile trip, and I do have "AAA." The Deuce is tagged as a Farm Truck. I...
So,.. tell me,.. How many blocks of concrete weighing 4000 Lbs each can I safely haul with a Deuce before I brake the Camel's back???? ...Including being able to brake safely. ??? !!!
I have an old worn out Chevy C30 Pickup truck with a lame engine, and I still tow things three times my...
I have read your posting, and I think it is a great ideal.
My Grandpa once told me of a "Same As list." It was a cross-over index showing where one part carried an entire list of part numbers. It could be brake shoes, or "U" Joints, or most anything else. What it did was create a way to...
Okay, bad ideal.
I have to move about 100 cement Lego blocks about 10 miles.
They measure 2'X2'X4" & 2'X2'X8' Weight: 2000 Lb. & 4000 Lb.
Since April 1St. I have tried to hire a rig to haul them for me.
Every person willing to do the job wants $100 an Hr.
However, they never show up, and...
I have been trying to buy a pup trailer that hauls 45,000 Lb. on Purple Wave, Inc. | No reserve equipment and vehicle auctions but the prices, and distance keeps putting me out of the bidding. I have been looking for a set of tandem duals to mount under my flatbed trailer but they are a bit...
