I asked Erik about the shake/wobble in my front end. It started at about 40/42 mph. Erik recommend adding 7 lug nuts to each front wheel to balance the almost 400 pound tires.
He sold me 14 lug nuts that came with a pic on where to add the lug nuts.
Lug nuts added to wheels per Erik's...
Thanks Catman. I missed the pdf last night. Checked it out tonight.
Did not know how it operated with the exhaust.
I guess it would be a good thing to check the black hose and clamps from the muffler to the air intake.
If the orginal hose is somewhat dry rotted replace it with ? Radiator hose...
FYI. Check your brake lines. I heard today about a A3 owner that had a brake line leak onto the wheel bearings. Brake fluid melted the grease on his bearings and melted the bearing on the axle.
He is looking at replacing the axle due to the cost of the bearing being more than a NOS front axle.
I was told today to clean all the coolers and radiator with Simply Green and a strong hose.
Spray with product like Simply Green degreaser and spray from back of coolers and raditor.
Flushing dirt etc. out to the front and not back into cooler/radiator. Do this with engine off.
Good luck..
a3 wheel bearing grease check/re pack etc.
Any hints on checking the A3's wheel bearings and re packing grease etc.
Going to the search and TM's...
Just thought I would ask for tips!!!
Thanks....
Change the oil in the trans. Change both external and internal filters.
Consider going with DEXIII for trans fluid.
Erik's has both filters.
The oil in your trans could be very old .
How many miles on truck?
Search engine here is great.
You will probably be told very soon by many A2 drivers...
pros and cons of going to DEXIII or transsynd?
Flushing the oil... Opps better hit the search before I ask about flushing out the oil going to DEXIII...!!!
How does your tranny shift? Feather the thortle into 4th gear?
Hold throtle down and make it shift?
What is normal shifting of the Allison?
Going to the search befoe getting blasted for asking!!!
Thanks..
