I bought one of those with the same idea in mind but when I removed it from the package I realized it wasn't meant to work at anything but low pressures. I now use a Milton dryer that I picked up at Northern Tool.
As the other poster said, use a respirator if using silica based blast...
This is the last comment I will make on this particular topic as not to :deadhorse:
Again, Nothing to be proud of or brag about or say that you would do again.
Since this is an insurance thread, realize that if you were to have an accident, even if the initial cause of the accident wasn't your...
I wouldn't go around admitting that story, much less bragging about your abilities to drive 300 miles with no brakes. You unnecessarily put other people in danger and that is not acceptable and is certainly nothing to be proud of or brag about.:cookoo:
I tried that tactic on the second round of calling all of the big companies and it didn't work. I'm telling you it really depends on who you get on the phone and what State you are in.
Yeah, I never actually advertised to any of the companies that it was a military vehicle. Just gave them the make and model. Still no dice with the big players except for allstate and they wanted $1,350/year!

Yeah, I think there are probably mechanical automatic transmissions out there that would fit but I don't have the time to research is as I am at best a novice when it comes to transmissions.
That is why I am leaning toward changing out the axle gears to the 4.9 that Ouverson makes.
Be sure to check the classifieds here and maybe even post a want ad here for an A3. Also, in addition to ebay, try using searchtempest.com. It is a craigslist search engine. So you can basically search all craigslist sites within a radius at once instead of having to search each city...
Navo, You should be able to find an A3 for around $8,000 to $10,000 that is in good working order. For $20,000 it would have to be EXTREMELY tricked out.
Excellent Looking truck walkerhunter! Most people that go with a stock bed center the axle under it but I really like the 60/40 look that you went with. I have an A3 that I plan on bobbing eventually but if I don't ever find the time, and have the money I would like to enlist your talents. I...
