Just a note on the gasket, after trashing the first one I pulled the 4 bolts and removed the turbo down pipe. putting the lip in the pipe and seating it was easy with it on the bench.
I could not find that gasket in the TM, But I could not stop the exhaust leak. The gasket shown is a Fel pro 60718 / Mahle F7507 / Victor-Reinz 711365500.I went to rockauto.com and looked at a 98 hummer H1. Its a 2 3/32" gasket, the metal lip on the flat side fits tight into the cast neck...
I have done it. There is not a kit that I know of, I went to the TM and ordered all the individual parts and installed them. The parts list is extensive and expensive but it can be done. OEM parts to do this (not sure at today's prices) will probably run around 9K +.
Just look everything over carefully .
My M1123 had the main brake line mid way down the left frame rail spliced with a brass ferrule coupling. You could see that the brass ferrules couldn't bite into the steel line and had almost slipped apart. Battlefield fix? anything to get it rolling...
o-ring is P/N 5745167 BUT IMHO that much oil there is a problem, Most likely seal out in the turbo ( if lucky) or engine has a lot of blow by being recirculated by the CDR valve. That much oil in the intake is never a good thing.
Here in California we have off road diesel.
It is the same as regular diesel except it was sold without road use tax (mostly used for tractors in ag) . So to identify it from regular Diesel they put red die in it. This makes it easy for the powers to be to fine you ( to death) if they find...
on my M1123 the trans shifted but the light stayed on, problem was the RPM sensor on the front timing cover was not connected. without that signal to the TCM, trans light stayed on and the torque converter defaulted into lock up. suggest checking the sensor and connections.
Yes the thud may be the plunger moving but if the contacts are arked closed the thud is misleading. I can't be the only one that has let go of the switch on my winch and it kept going sending me in a panic to unhook the battery or let go of the key on my jeep and the starter stayed engaged...
Wile you have the box open, take your ohm meter and check the large silver solenoid , the large post on one side and the large post opposite it.
With the box open on the bench there should be NO continuity across those posts. If there is continuity across those posts you found the problem .
when...
I have read a lot here about injector pumps, replacing them and rebuilding them but vary little about injectors.
Thought I might chime in, Any time we pull a pump ( diesel powered ag equipment) for rebuild we always pull the injectors and send them with the pump. If they are good, it costs vary...
I seem to remember a post from Retired War Horse some time back that may fit your situation. I Think he had a unit that functioned fine when sitting still but with RPM the fan would stay on, Like when driving. If I remember correctly it turned out to be a failing power steering pump, Pump would...
with a 242 T case and 3:08 gears on STD tires you need a 41 tooth gear.
larger gear slows the speedometer down. this is the what I used on my M1123 to put the speedometer dead on with the GPS.
Not trying to be smart But ; If the truck won't move at all, have you checked to make sure the transfer case is in gear. Look under the truck (safely) see if the drive shafts are moving, bad transfer case/ broken diff or missing- broken half shaft could all cause it not to move. May have...
