No the trans would go into gear and shift even though the light stayed on / I noticed the torque converter was locked up all the time and I don't believe it would go into overdrive but I didn't drive it much until I was able to sort it out. Will your truck not Move ? not even in limp mode ?
My M1123 did the same thing, Light came on as soon as the unit was switched on but when the engine started it stayed on. On mine it was the RPM signal from the engine telling the TCU the engine was running. I was lucky in that the plugs had been pulled apart at the sender.
Good Luck.

Just a shot in the dark here but, check your drive line clearance between the metal shield on the fuel tank and your shaft. Mine had a balance weight welded to the shaft and when the tank was full of fuel it would flex just enough to contact the weight and make metal clacking sound that was...
Based on the statement that finally it blows white smoke,
It could be a problem similar to one I had. After my truck would sit overnight the next morning when I went to start it, it would hit on a couple of cylinders / try to start but then nothing and I would have to crank on it to get it to...
Funny thing is I pulled mine apart several times sealed it with multiple types of sealant finally to find that it was really leaking from the output barb. Replaced the small spring clamp (hose clamp) with a small rip tie problem solved. couldn't see the forest for the trees.
I had a similar situation, Turned out to be the balance weight on the rear drive shaft was just touching the metal shield on the side of the fuel tank. couldn't see a rub mark on the shield but the weight was shinny. Key was the put-put got faster as I speed up
Could the fan kick out switch on the injector pump be bad or sticking. that could prevent the fan from engaging . Sorry read the whole thread, now realize your running too cool, not a common problem with these trucks. My unit tested fine, fan came on and off when tested at idle but fan would...
I have found that on my truck (M1123) that if I slow down i can feel the engine braking , as soon as I lift clear off the throttle the torque converter releases and feels like free wheeling. So it will unlock if you touch the brakes or lift your foot off the throttle. Both the brake switch and...
I can't quite make sense of this because I cant tell which line your blowing into so at the rick of sounding dumb, pull a vent line off some where else and see if you can blow air through the line you are currently blowing on. There is only one line to atmosphere and if that happens to be the...
My speedo was jumpy too, Bought a new cable ( they are cheep) , Found a rough spot in the 90 deg adapter (not so cheep) transfer case had the wrong gear in it so i installed a new 41 tooth gear AND installed a set of Centramatics. smooooth sailing now.
I would cover 1/2 the radiator with cardboard or a tarp and run it. that blockage should allow the unit to come up to temp and cause the fan to function. When satisfied the system works properly pull the tarp or cardboard off and sleep well knowing your truck is a rare one that runs cool.
I gave up on compressors years ago in favor of the co2 tank.
IMO the only way to go if running large tires, You can build it yourself or go to a company like Powertank.com and buy one. Keep in mind that your regulator will get icy when airing up large tires or running an impact wrench so the...
Just a guess, but if the power steering fluid gets low, the pump will pull oxegenated oil in and whine at a high pitch. steering still works and sound will vary with engine RPM. Worth checking the level or dropping the belt off the pump to check. I agree the cadillic valve is more of a hiss
