Those assembly’s sure do command a pretty penny.
What changed after 84? I would imagine a hydraulic throw out bearing would be the best setup and most pedals could be made to work with that.
I’m
I would get a break down of the parts and labor that go into that price. Are they going to remove and install the transmission for you? Or are you bringing it to them?
I have a fluidampr on the way, the part stores in my area show them in stock and when they try to ship from the manufacturer the order gets canceled a week later. After two attempts I need to do the sure thing to get the truck on the road in a reasonable amount of time.
My balancer is visibly wobbling I don’t want to drive the truck like that out of concern for doing serious damage. I really don’t want to wait for something to be in stock. I’m probably going to end up going with the fluidampr simply because it’s available. Hoping to get some bonus performance...
I have been having a heck of a time getting a new damper for my truck. I tried all of the parts stores in my area and all options are out of stock. Autozone showed a pioneer brand balancer in stock which is made overseas. I ordered it and the manufacturer never shipped because they said out of...
Already did sir! Great write up. Thanks for the link. I wish those .670 shims were available at the parts store but I’ll unfortunately need to mail order them.
Hey all, the passenger side alternator pulley on my truck is about a 1/16 back compared to the rest of the accessories causing alignment issues, squealing, and chewed belts. The truck is new to me so I don’t fully know the history but it looks like a replacement alternator and the fan has a good...
My new to me truck came with an aftermarket fuel filter that has a little petcock at the bottom to drain.
should I be cracking this drain periodically to check for water? Will doing so introduce air into my fuel system? Should I crank the engine while doing so or just let gravity work
I’m looking to replace my balancer and the Dorman 594-128 part number is not available at Napa or auto zone.
Jegs claims they can direct ship from the manufacturer but it projected to ship 10 days out which has me concerned.
I really wanted to do this job asap is there a good source for these...
Thanks for the tip, an H pipe wouldn’t be a bad mod and may even gain a little power.
I really mostly am concerned with achieving a lower highway RPM while keeping up with traffic.
Ok new thought…
a built 700r4 from a reputable company is about $2500 when you include the core charge. I would also need a new torque converter.
the price is now creeping towed gear vendors pricing. Granted the GV would require a shortened drive shaft. But this makes the choice less obvious...
I would like to drive my m1008 over 55mph on the highway and am weighing out pros and cons of various options. I want to keep the truck as true to form and original as possible with the exception of some aggressive off-road tires (in the 32” range) and highway gearing.
The truck will remain...
You’ve all confirmed what I’ve already known all along. These trucks are getting old enough and there aren't as many left so they need to be preserved.
