    sticky winch engage

Thanks for your reply. I do hate to ‘beat on’ nice machinery. I am still unsure of how high to keep the oil level on the frame/left side of the unit. It looks as if the level is high it would lubricate the drum shaft better.

    Winch Lubrication Level

Hi all, I have a 1991 A2 with a poorly functioning winch. How much lubrication oil should be in the frame side of the winch reservoir? The Lubrication order is unclear of the oil capacity. It looks to me that this oil level should be quite high. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Air Dryer Alternative

Did open valve couple times when driving solo- Got the 340110 one referenced above on order tonight. Hope to get it in before snow falls!

    Air Dryer Alternative

Thank you again- Sounds like a good upgrade if they fixed the blowing valve trouble. My son got good at bumping ours with a wood dowell at roadside!

    Air Dryer Alternative

Is the Haldex Da34110 more reliable than the original one? Is this a bit newer model? Thanks!

    sticky winch engage

Thanks. The gear lube looks ok as to level and clean. My service replacment did not have a level-plug drilled, but I checked with a "coat-hanger dipstick" . No grease fitings around engage=lever. If units should move easily all the time, I got a problem I guess. Thought they may normally...

    Air Dryer Alternative

Hi all, I have a 1991 A2 with the ABS sisten and all. I have the Haldex N50011F air dryer. It tends to stick open sometimes where the system blows down for the past couple years. I have been playing with it by cleaning and giving it its best shot at working. Are there any practical civilian or...

    sticky winch engage

Hi all . Have a 1991 A2 with a once replaced "Med Duty " front winch. It needs few few medium "bumps' with a heavy rubber mallet to engage or disengage the lever. Jogging unit and or break only helps a bit. How "real world normal" is this, and if bad- is there a basic fix? Thanks- good to have...

Coolant leaking into cab from heater box ?

Quick note- 1980's "fox bodie" ford cores are nearly a direct drop in and easy to get. Those were Mustangs, small LTD's, Fairmounts, et cetera.

    Poor winch performance

Thanks guys. I basically only had 60 feet of cable out. My truck was facing downhill. I could not drive him out pulling uphill on greasy mud. If this is a clue, my winch does not power pay out, bit does go to heave in. Thanks again for all of your help. I did think that the truck would nearly...

    8.3L Hydraulic Pump Add

Looks like a neatly done install. What is flow of your pump and what are you driving with it?

    Poor winch performance

Hi all. I have a M925 A2 with a Medium Duty winch. Winch was replaced by Air Force. Yesterday I tried to use it to pull a BADLY mired Chevy Trail Blazer. Could not budge it. Winch did go to pull mode, filter was clean, and plenty of hyd oil. I thought it should yank it out easy as Chevy...

    Transfer Case/Power Question

I'd also consider the type of oil and how often you change oil and filters when predicting reliability.

    air dryer purge troubles

Thanks again. I will definitely rig the hose or simply open my wet tank drain when driving on public roads.

    air dryer purge troubles

Sounds like I am in good company. Can I use a hunk of inner tube and a hose clamp to limp it home when required on the bottom blow down nipple? I just wonder how many times I can bump the Bakelite dick before she shatters. Thanks!
