Mine gets a little higher usage than most. I've racked up almost 8000 miles this year. But I drove it across country too. I bought the truck with 2600 miles on it and am at just a tad over 42,000 now. I've owned the truck since 2006. It is my daily driver though too. White multi-fuel usually...
I use two deuces for a tree service and both need a catch can. Right now when we park in people's yards to work we put large trash bags filled with wood chips under the trucks anywhere they might drip. It's easy but a catch can would be a lot better. Let me know what you want for two. Thanks.
I ran the Warden series tires on my super duty. Never had an issue with them. The truck towed either a chipper or the chip trailer most weekdays. I'll buy them again when I need another set.
I used Mil-Spec walk way compound, Non-Skid. It works pretty good. It sealed every small hole and stopped some of the heat. Not enough in my opinion but it did make a difference.
Yesterday while driving to a tree job I started getting gassed out of the cab. The diesel fumes were so bad my eyes were watering and my nose was itching. The job site was about an 8 th of a mile away so I drove there. Immediately opened the side panel only to see the whole firewall and side of...
I have a problem with my transmission. When I fill it up to the rim of the fill port, for the next few hundred miles it pukes 90wt when I stop. It all drains out of the hole in the clutch cover. It leaks until it's about 1 to 1 1/2 inches below the fill port. It has been doing this for about a...
I used two green stripe belts. And I did use a fan on the condenser. After reading the other posts about AC I didn't even bother to try it without an aux fan. Even without the insulation it was pretty good. It should be a lot better now.
Today I find he'd the insulation work. I added about 1/4 inch of bed liner to the floor and painted to silver insulation to match the rest of the truck
Mine would try to shut down after a long run, it would stumble and idle rough as you describe. I changed the filters too with no change. It got so the truck would die as soon as you let off the throttle after driving for a bit. Then it got so it wouldn't start until I held it wide open. All of...
My squadron had an M35A2 in Al-Asad Iraq in 2004 and 2005. It was painted desert tan, soft top, no rear canvas. It had the HMM-264 logo on the hood and doors. I don't have any pictures of it though. The front bumper numbers were 00 with HMM-264 on the other side. 00 is called double nuts which...
Today I decided to insulate the cab a little bit. I went to Lowes and bought a role of silver bubble insulation. I used the holes already in the cab with some bolts and large washers along with some self tapping screws with large washers under the head again. Once I had it on the fire wall and...
Today I ended up going to NAPA and getting an 8 inch oil line with a male and female end. I put a male to male straight fitting in the pump housing and screwed the female end of the hose to it. I used a female to female adapter on the other end and screwed to stock t fitting to it. Bent the hose...
Today was a great day at work. We got to the job site in my buddies Deuce, shut it down and noticed a massive oil leak. The fitting under the injection pump for the oil supply was cracked. So I called my son to grab some tools and my spare pump and bring it all to me. Now getting that fitting...
Here are a few more pictures as requested. The one shows the nut extensions I used so I could get the correct spacing to match the dash lines. In that picture the inlet tube is cut and folded in. I later realized this was unnecessary so I straightened it back out.
I have some more expanded steel and a piece of 1/4 inch plate steel that I am going to fab up a guard with. I use my deuce as my daily driver and for my job as a tree surgeon so limbs, sticks, and odd off road situations are an almost daily occurrence.
My total cost in the heat and a/c system is $1300.00. All new parts. I'm looking forward to seeing your new kit. Eventually I'd like to have a 24 volt alt a 12 volt alt. power steering and a/c. That's going to be a long way down the road though.
I had the same issue with a set of mine a while back. I found that there is no fix for them other than to get another light. I know that's not the way we in this hobby like to do things but with those lights it's the only answer.
