To advance the timing on the injection pump turn it towards the driver side. For the transmission issue try adjusting the vacuum regulator valve, I believe counter clockwise if its shifting hard. Its the plastic piece bolted onto the left side of the injection pump.

Could be that the starter solenoid needs replacement because it isn't actuating the starter gear.

How would I go about installing a universal inline washer pump? Can the existing line be used from the washer fluid bottle? I couldn't seem to find any instructions on installing a universal pump on the forum.

The fix to the problem was buying the correct bracket for the starter (Part # 23502557). Thanks for all the suggestions.

The connections are all tight I made the support bracket myself out of angle iron. Could that be a problem?
