Mine have the terminal over the top and two small screws and the main stud to connect the battery cable. They are a PITA to tighten! Thanks for the link!
Good evening all!
Make a long story short I did have a regulator problem. Well it was a piece of charcoal! I installed the new regulator and drove the truck for a couple days. The charging needle would stay just below the line in the green at 28.3 volts. So I figured let's drive it a lot...
Update. To everybody that said I need a new regulator, I'm not sure! I think a little carb clean and chewing gum, should be good to go!
But in all seriousness is this a normal failure? I had a battery failure, could the generator of been trying so hard to recharge it and blew it up...
Demental thanks for the help but I never used the word "fixed"! We know it won't fix itself, just trying to give the board as much info as I can and hope we can use this to help others if they have the same issue. I like to state all the facts. And I know others do as well! Again thank...
OK so today the truck ran just fine. 27.5v. Needle well into the green. Retired when you say the regulator is bad and the gen needs rebuilt, can I just replace the regulator or does the while gen the to be replaced?
Thank you!
Retired, thank you for the help. Running is around 26.3 in the yellow and mid 27s in the green. Yes it's a 60amp alt, but I can't get the **** Allan screw out! Is there a way to check the alternator or regulator?
Thank you sir
Hi Guys,
OK so I've got a few miles on my m998 now. The front battery was toast, so I replaced that. The truck then did the charging jump between yellow and green for about 2 min while it was warming up then it would be right in the green (just below the white line). You could hear the...
This is when we were unloading it. The back door did close with about 6" to spare inside a 20' uhaul. Make sure you take the doors off!! It will NOT FIT with the doors installed. Also I did break one clip holding the top on. Small price to pay I think!
And if you get the matching...
I would like to close this thread as well. It was totally my fault the signals didn't work. There was a burnt contact as shown but the real reason the signals didn't work was because I hosed out the interior with high pressure (not a pressure washer). The water entered the turn signal switch...
Ok so I wanted to finish this thread by telling everyone how my experience went with pickup up my '92 M998. First off I would like to thank the only person at MCLB that is in charge of helping a person with their new joy. I wont name drop but him and his wife were AMAZING (BTW she is pregnant...
According to CA law the reverse lights can not been seen from at distance greater then 75 feet (so I hope to use those LEDs as backup lights). Seems like a weak regulation to me... Also I did figure out the blinker problem. Attached is the pic. Burnt contacts. I was able to move the...
Will do! Thanks guys! Anybody know if I can use the white LED on the bottom as reverse lights? I was shocked to see LEDs installed on a '92! And sorry about the picture being sideways!
Sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find it. I just installed a new front battery in my M998. Starts and runs great. The only problem is the turn signals don't flash. The bulbs light up and stay bright on the front and rear on each side (left if bright if turning left, right...
