I had some more pics........:-)
At some point the rest of the interior will be freshened up - it's all different colors & shades. At least the console sorta matches the tan dash!!!rofl
Just wanted to share some info on my console installation. Not saying it's the best way, but it might help some other members who are considering doing something similar.
Bought a Blazer/Suburban console off ebay weeks ago and decided to install it today. The civi model has four holes to mount...
Best I can offer is a link to pics of a truck I found back in December 2008. Hope this helps. [thumbzup]

I think that a FWD Buick Century is pushing it to me - to make it worse it may be one of the 4 banger models! Based on my limited experience at work with the GM A Bodys, they're brakes weren't the best either. I drove an A Body on my job while doing field work and the right rear drum would...
My M1009 didn't have an EUC requirement. The GL rep told me their policy was changing for CUCVs, so you may not have to wait...check the specific auction to see. It may still vary by location.
My GA title lists the M1009 as:
Make: Chevrolet
Type of Body: Multi Purpose vehicle
Model: D10
It has a regular license plate, but I could have gotten an antique one if I wanted to pay extra for it.
Could it be a alt or PS belt that needs to be tightened or replaced if it's old??

Guess whether to buy or not only you can determine.
My M1009 isn't an everyday daily driver, so it's more of a fun vehicle. I drive it to work about once a week and use it for errands too. It would be fine for a DD with regular PM and replacing old items that could leave you stranded.
Just...
Ebay usually has some listed - that's where I got two for my M1009. Search for miliary tow hooks, clevis, tow rings, or d rings....you'll usually find some. :jumpin:
The National Geograhic channel has the show "Ultimate Factories" and they did an episode about the M1 Abrams a few years ago. They showed them being stripped and disassembled in Anniston AL and then the hulls and parts are shipped via rail to Lima OH. They're rebulit using some new stuff...
In north Georgia, we still have lots of old Chevy trucks & Blazers still on the road.
They may not have been a great "tactical truck", but they must be a pretty good design to still be sought after and be on the road after 25+ yrs.
I've already had two guys ask if my M1009 was for sale...
Just FYI....found this on another site:
1984--Chevy again made changes to the front end of the truck, the only major area of change in 15 years of production. Quadruple headlights were made optional. Interior received changes to the wiper controls and the integration of the high beam lights...
