HF Paint Pot & Spray Gun

FYI the Harbor Freight paint pot, at about $ 100 for the pot and gun with 25 ft hoses it works quite well. The regulator that comes with the pot should be immediately thrown in trash and replaced with a decent one. Just needs one or two tee's to mount. Check small packing nuts on gun for...

    Indented Hex Head Bolts

Just thought I'd stick with what came out, well several of the originals came out in more than one piece and with the aid of a drill bit. I guess I'll decide when the wndshield's ready to go back on. Thanks for the input. "Tighten it 'till it strips, then back off a quarter turn"

    Indented Hex Head Bolts

Anyone found a source for the indented hex head bolts that hold the windshield assy to the body. I have braced myself for flaming and the "hey just put a dang bolt in it", but thought I'd be different and ask. They are 3/8-24 X 1 1/4 and I've found plenty of 3/8-16 's. Oh well at least I...

    Rust below windshield

I started prepping our Deuce for paint and have to deal with the couple large rust holes in the vertical piece just below the windshield. Is this piece available and able to be replaced? I've done body work before and have welder/tools. We have another Deuce that has a cover plate over the same...

    Oil Filter again

Searched and didn't find either answer. Changed oil and filters on the deuce, all seemed to go well. First question where to find torque spec for drain plug. I won't lose any sleep over it but would be nice to know. Second, what does the cotter pin on the center post do? The TM says to put the...

    California CDL: Another Clarification (long)

My advice would be to try and find one of those "Class A in a Day" places that let you use their truck and trailer, train you and set up the test at the DMV. With some studying, a physical (about 50 dollars) and about $600 for the training, you can get a CDL A or B and eliminate any question...

    no lights!

One thing to check I had a similar problem and turned the master switch on without starting the engine. I then could hear the fuel pump and started pulling on wires and plugs on the firewall. I found a loose crimp connection in a multi conductor plug feeding the master switch. Repaired it and...

    Bringing it home

My deuces took 3 months for EUC to clear for first time. Good idea to start planning now. Having it hauled = no insurance, don't have to start it, no DMV / LEO hassles, if it breaks down no towing charges, don't have to deal with your state driver license requirements. Driving it home = an...

    Not enought numbers in VIN

After several hours last week and 3 hours on Sunday searching SS and Google for VIN, NSN,FSN, and all related info, it's starting to make a little more sense. With 6 deuces I have to title 5 of them. The first, '67 Kaiser was already registered, Ca used the contract number for the vin, and I'm...

    Christmas Came Late

After 3 1/2 months the EUC's cleared on all 5 deuces we won and had them delivered about a week ago. 4 are hard tops and one a soft top, one with winch. 2 have Continentals, 2 have Whites, and one a Hercules (to match the deuce we already had). 2 of them are whistlers. I want to get one of the...

I think Bud Boy is getting tired of waiting!

Bought 3 deuces on Oct 4 and 2 on Dec 2, from GL. Finally got the EUC cleared for all Jan 18. Good luck and remember an appointment for loading to remove at Gl is an estimate only. Anyway got all five here now and am a happy camper.

    I'm just curious...

I thought I was the only one who liked to lay under the deuce and look at the strange stuff.LOL Any and all of the preceeding reasons are more than enough to own a deuce. BTW Calif requires a commercial license to drive one. So I had to get a CDl, had a nice young lady give me personal training...

    More Rear Axle Seal Questions

Should be enough I started using about 100 ft of hose - 3/8 and 1/2 inch id. So pulled the hub (doing wheel bearings anyway) with wheel to the shop and used 15 ft of 1/4 hose with no improvement. The manual says the wrench uses 7 cfm @ 90 psi, and Milton says their 1/4 inch couplers are good...
