Do you mind if I ask where you got your AN/GRR-5 Cover? I've been looking for one for awhile without any success. WeeBee webbing wants about a $150+ for one and they are quite honest about the fact that they really don't want to make one.
Any help with finding a cover would be greatly...
Wow! Bubba was on the loose and rip, roaring busy that day! That just looks like a LOT more work than necessary for what got accomplished.
Just wow!

Today I adjusted the governor speed on my truck (to increase the top speed from 40 MPH - 45 MPH to 45 MPH - 55 MPH. The truck seems to run fine at the new setting. I will probably only run it at 45 to 50 for short periods, but it is nice not to have the truck top out at 40. There is a "flat...
The fuel fired heaters will drive you out of a M-37 cab (I think they are rated at 45,000 BTUs). I had one. I removed it and went to a water heater type. The fuel fired heater was even too hot for my wife in the mountains in the winter in a screaming snow storm.
Just my 2cents

In the first set of pics, the first 4 pics are of the trailer vertical channel. The last two pics of the first set of pics are the truck vertical channel. They are similar, but not the same. If you are not using bows you might be able to make it work with one channel (use smaller channel and add...
I forgot to mention that since I can't label each pic, if you need or want to know which vehicle it is from let me know and I will identify it.
Here are the next 10 pics.

Well, here are the pics. I tried to get a tape measure into a couple of them with less than stellar results ( I know Keith likes precision and so do I ) but I can take some more if needed.
I tried to get views of the bows, corners and vertical members. The metal verticals on the M-37 and M101A1...
I'll go take some pics of both the M-37 and M101 parts. You'll be able to see the difference (the M101A1 bows are flatter).
I may not get them posted tonight; it might be tomorrow morning.

I had all the pieces (except the wood), I just didn't want to make two completely different sets, so I tried to standardize.
Didn't work for me and I've talked to other people who tried the same thing with the same results.
Bow sets (NOS) used to cost about $20 (about 30 years ago). I...
I wanted mine to be the same bows, stakes and brackets (standardization of parts) but I learned the hard way that it doesn't work. No criticism was implied or intended. If you can make it work for you, that's great.
My truck is a "re-manufactured" truck and trailer. It is not a "show" truck. If...
I don't mean to rain on your parade, but the trailer bows and vertical pieces on the M101A1 and the M-37 are NOT the same. I have both restored vehicles sitting side by side in my garage (I would be happy to take pics and post them if you would like).
I only am mentioning this to save you some...
Yes, in Washington state, you probably wouldn't find one that nice and if you did it would probably be far north of 4K ( 5 to 8.5K wouldn't be unusual). If it had a winch it would definitely be at the upper end of that range.
You did very well. [thumbzup]
Good Luck with your restoration. I...
Looks like a very good candidate for restoration. Most of your major parts are there and everything appears to be stock (please don't tell me you're going to rip the engine out, put in a big block whatever and make it go a million miles an hour and trash it in the woods). This truck has the...
I've got a couple of dual sets for my M-37 / M-42 and M101A1 trailer. I have 4 wheels and tires to make a dual set on my trailer and rear of my truck or duals on all 4 wheels of my truck. I've only installed them to check fit / function.
I've added a couple of picks below of the fit / function...
