Keep in mind that the M1008 is Exactly a Chevy K30 1Ton of the time. Minus interior carpet and the addition of some helper springs in the rear. So it's not necessarily any stronger.
With that being said, it will have no problem towing ATVs, etc. My M1008 didn't even move down an inch when I...
Jimm1009 have you had a positive experience doing this. I will keep it in mind as my 60 days draws nearer. Who exactly do you send the email to, what address?
TIA
John
If the starter bolts are broken, there's a good chance it's because the starter bracket is missing. I broke 2 or 3 starter bolts before I got the bracket and solved the problem. Go you your local GM dealer, they're cheap enough.
since you're asking how it all works its probably your first GL buy so that would mean your first EUC. After winning you have to send in an EUC and wait to be approved. This usually takes a minimum of 60 days for your first one, then they will notify you and you have to call and schedule an...
"Sierra Army Depot is a munitions disposal site for the United States Army. It is licensed in California and operated by a civilian contractor working for the U.S. Army. SIAD is engaged in the open burning of munitions, a process that releases many know toxins into the air, including heavy...
to be weary of when offroading is that the small steps like to get ripped off. A slider type step that runs the full length of the truck is usually best if you may be in that situation. I had thought of doing a single step like on tractors so its flexible. It has to steel cables on each side...
Its a waiting game. Each EUC has different results with no rhyme or reason to it. I'm waiting on my first EUC to clear that went to Battle Creek on 4/6 on 3 M101A2 trailers. Getting a little nervous because GL says that first EUC can expect a minimum of 60 days and SS members are saying they...
My M1008 had a class IV putnam hitch on it that was installed by the previous owner. here's part of a PM that I sent to another member that asked about it in the past
If memory serves its a Putnam Class IV hitch. I will find all the other bits of info i have on it soon for you.
Found the...
Awesome Chris thanks for the Advice.
EMR I may take you up on that offer in the near future if I can't find any covers closer by. I have the side racks on one trailer, but still require the bows to go with the cover.
Very Cool! thanks for the info Skark_burmer. regarding the registration, I had read that in some states you can register for a title at DMV with just a bill of sale and save the money you would have spent to have the SF97 processed. I had wanted to do this with the trailer I want to sell to...
I drove around the first month and a half in my M1008 before I realized that the pass side alt that was installed had no isolated ground (previous owner replaced it with a standard 12v alt.). Had a few unhappy moments when the truck decided not to start on me. the first being the 5 mile drive...
Brandi sent my EUC right on through to Battle creek as well (after a few quick revisions). Very quick
event 5165 still waiting for first EUC to clear Battel Creek
Hey Skark_Burmer sorry I didn't see your post until today. How did the recovery go?? Were the GL people at Herlong helpful and easy to work with? And last question for ya. What are your plans with registration, are you going to get a title from DMV with a bill of sale, or are you going to...
It had a cloth dash cover on it, but before taking those pictures we decided to take it for a spin around the block without a windshield. Needless to say we were blinded for a brief moment when the velcro on the dash cover let go and it flew up blocking our view.
The first few months I had my M1008 the center strip in the seal around the windshield was missing. After figuring out why it leaked and whistled going down the highway I bought a new center strip and replaced it myself. Its a real easy job and doesn't take all that long. A bought the strip...
not sure how deep they are but for the sake of stacking trailers you would probably be fine with 12" wooden ground stakes and put a nail (or something similar) through them at six inches to keep them from sliding down into the stake pockets. It only serves to keep the two trailers from sliding...
