Any way to recover deleted threads? He deleted the original post where he was selling the injection pump- I have the old link but it's dead. It would have been nice to include it in the report to the FBI/local law enforcement.
I suppose you could, but with only a 12v battery, you'd need 10 times the amperage to achieve the same wattage and thus heater output as a 120v unit- so it'd drain the battery that it was hooked to pretty darn quick. Couple that with the fact that the times that the block heater is really useful...
RE: Re: RE: m1008 or m1028?
Think of it this way- in a turn with lockers at both ends, you've got two tires trying to push you straight on, two trying to pull you to the side, and the mass of the vehicle doing whatever it's doing. Something's gotta give. On slippery surfaces with lockers or...
I only mention the speed limit because given the circumstances, there was no reason to design for a top cruising speed of more than 55mph. As such, the good old "lowest gears you can use while maintaining desired top speed" rule of thumb leads to 4.56 gears. I'm thankful they went that way...
As for the gearing, it makes perfect sense to me- the national speed limit at the time was 55 and I doubt a truck would see faster than that on a base, and certainly not off road, and if they wanted one that would, they could take a Blazer or other vehicle. So they just followed the same rule...
The problem with most of the 16" takeoffs is that they aren't mudworthy. Granted, I don't do anything too extreme, but at the same time, I'd like to have something better than I have. I'd also like to have the additional ground clearance of the taller tires, but that can wait if it has to.
TNJ...
Hm, all I have is this one at the moment: http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff46/rick_237/Truckster/DSCF0710.jpg?t=1224602985
When I get home I can take a photo directly from the side, though.
I've been reading for a couple days (well, really, on and off for a couple weeks) now, and I'm just getting more confused.
I need tires. My front tires are junk and one has a slow leak that refuses to be found. The rears are OK I guess. I'd like a little bit of extra ground clearance, so I'm...
Well, it's been a couple weeks and I haven't received anything, not even a tracking number. PayPal says it's too late to file a dispute, so I guess the only thing left to go is to go to the police and/or FBI internet fraud center to file fraud/theft charges.
Edit- I have hoot's name and...
Last week he said he'd be around the early part of this week. I'm all about giving people time and being accommodating, but this has dragged on for OVER TWO MONTHS. Worst, I've been told time and again that the part was on its way, and nothing has come through.
Any SS members out in Washington...
Well, he dropped off the face of the earth, haven't heard from him for about a week now- there goes my $210, which I really can't afford. The real question is whether I should file a report with my police department or his?
RE: Re: RE: CUCV 4x4 question
Ah, OK, thanks for the explanation. I was just confused since I've used it in both 4H and 4L and both are most decidedly not neutral. ;)
I would like to test mine sometime, just to make sure everything is working properly. I understand that since the front is an...
RE: Re: RE: Air compressor and air conditioner?
I would just measure out the space available, and get the biggest tank available. I'd figure you could get something like this in there- http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200359571_200359571
You may have to...
If you're going to be running an inverter, any reason you couldn't just mount a 120v "pancake" or "hotdog" compressor (or, since it's a deuce, maybe even something bigger) remotely? Or do you just want the compressor to be engine mounted?
Edit- why the heck did I think this was going on a...
I just went through a refurbishment of my glow plug system. Jumper the light blue wire in the card to ground and see if the relay clicks. If the relay clicks and the voltmeter doesn't drop (do this with the key in) when the relay clicks, the relay is bad.
