I think it's a good idea, Put the grease zerk on the Pin. While the pin is out it would be easy to put spiral grooves in it, if you have a lathe. Or you could "ghetto lathe" it. Chuck it up in a drill, turn slowly, and run the pin down the edge of a running bench grinder wheel.
Well I can't say from experience, as I haven't tried it with a 400 ft/lbs impact(all I have) But when the tire shop mounted my tires they used a torque wrench and went to 500 ft/lbs. About a 3 foot cheater bar works with no problems and no grunting for me.
So this M37 has been in yearly use as a snowplow, at the bar about 4 blocks from my place, (in WI there is a bar / tavern about every 5 blocks). It's been there for at least 11 years and runs and drives. Must have come from Ontario at some point, Ministry of Natural Resources sticker on the...
I'm in Eau Claire, WI. 90 east of the cities.
I sure would check into the export laws on this... the paperwork I signed when I bought mine was very clear on exporting.
Are you sure the winch clutch at the front of the truck is engaged? I had to pull the cable as I moved the clutch until it fell into place. Also the Lock tab should be moved out to a shallow slot to allow the drum to spin. The TM9-2320-386-24-1-2 has a schematic. It’s at the very end of the...
I am pretty sure the valve you have pointed out is the "over pressure relief" safety valve.
The valve at the very bottom of the diagram is the air operated pay in, pay out control valve.
A couple of guy's have had to free up a sticky valve at this point I believe. (Few drops of air tool...
So, 625 HP @ 1700 RPM =~ 1930 ft lbs. torque. (hp = tq*RPM / 5252)
How does this compare to 130 hp @ 2400 RPM? - 284 ft/lbs.
15000 lbs / 284 ft lbs = 52.8 lbs/ ft-pnd
140,000 lbs / 1930 ft lbs = 72.5 lbs/ ft-pnd
Must be a mighty short hill.
Got You. April fools....
In my state, the word of the law is "military markings" so if it's still got the unit markings and the stars, you’re good to go... Just my interpitation and I'm no lawyer. But, until I get called on it, that my story and I’m sticking to it. (Is camouflage considered markings?)
Well, the way I would look at it is as follows. You have 2 surfaces that are imperfect, (shaft, bore) and you are asking it to mate with another surface that is also imperfect (bearing). At some point in time the two-three imperfect surfaces are going to meet. The question is, is there enough...
Coming along nicely!
BTW. while you have all that stuff off, do you think a transmission that is ~ 2 inches longer would fit without moving the transfer case?
The Air compressor on an M35A3 is driven directly off of the engine. It is Liquid cooled, twin cylinder, Turbocharged unit; meaning that the air intake for the compressor is after the intercooler radiator. I’m not sure if it is single stage or two stage, however with my max psi at the air gauge...
I also, "half donkyied", looked into the trans swap. Seems like an Allison MD3060 would be the way to go. With double overdrive, higher HP and torque ratings, and only about a 2 inch length difference. (With OUT the PTO option, which isn't used on the A3) However this is a full electronic trans...
When I went to use mine, I had to take a screw driver to pry the locking lever out. Plus a little PB blaster to loosen it up.
I believe the A3 winch has a hydraulic limited, bypass valve. As I could pull a mini van out of the ditch, up hill, with no problem. However at a dead pull of the...
