Does anyone else get poor readings from 6.2 added temp gauge?

I swapped the idiot light temp sensor for a temp gauge. Easy to do and accurate readings.

M1009 Gen 1 issues- im confused

I had that same problem. Did you check for voltage at the voltmeter harness? My voltmeter was not working but a new resistor fixed it because it was getting voltage. Cleaning contacts everywhere and a new bulb socket resolved the get 1 light issue for me.

    Coolant leak

Thanks for the reply, and happy Thanksgiving to you too. Is there anything else I should replace while I'm in there? There is some belt squeel while the alternator charging if I accelerate hard, could a bad water pump cause this? The belts are new. I'm a big fan of your rebuild threads, and...

    Coolant leak

Hey guys, I noticed a puddle this morning, and the coolant was a little low. After filling the resivoir and driving on a short trip there was a steady drip that develped and is visible on the harmonic balancer. I put a bucket under and left for the day, and when I checked later the drip...

A cheap and easy way to mount a winch to a CUCV

Thats a great idea. I was wondering about side loading as well. The TM says to only use one anchor point when in recovery situation. I'm guessing this is to avoid twisting the frame? Your setup could be fine because the winch plate spreads the load between the two points. In any case if you...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I added pex the other day and i have that I have that type of wear on the striker and no door wiggle up and down. Does that mean the door should be adjusted up slightly? Also, the driver side door is not weather tight when going through a car wash. I replaced the seal on the cab, but it looks...

Bringing old and faded door panels back to life

In the fall I wiped down the exterior and door panels that were looking tired with wd40 and it made a huge difference. We'll see how long it lasts. Even if I do it twice a year it doesn't take long to do.

Gen 2 Light not lighting upon startup

I looked into the socket first by cleaning it, swapping bulbs, and swapping gen 1 and 2 sockets. Only gen 1 would ever light for me. Traced wires with no sign of fraying or broken wires, and all fusible links and fuses are good. A couple months ago I sprayed corrosion x on the electrical...

Gen 2 Light not lighting upon startup

Gen 2 light magically started working last night and worked today as well! The only thing I can think is it must have been a loose connection somewhere. I never found any broken wires and the alternator was charging as it should. I'm just happy it works.

    Terminus M1009

Im having the same issue. Could it be a defective #2 alternator field current relay? I have not begun to look into what or where that is. 8-)
