No Start After Fuel Filter Replacement

If you remove the glow plugs and disconnect the pink wire on the injection pump, the engine will spin over freely and much faster - it'll prime fuel quickly. It doesn't take that long to do and it will greatly cut down the amount of cranking you do to get it running again. I don't know if...

    Fusible link question

Thanks Warthog, I searched this a few different ways, did some reading and tested a good bit before I posted but you guys pointed out two I missed. I'll order the LMC harness, snip the diode and eliminate the suppressor on the horn circuit. I'm kinda in the spot as the OP on the thread MarcusO...

    Fusible link question

Thanks for that, I'll read it tonight. I read Warthog's thread with the explanations and diagrams but didn't see this one.

    Fusible link question

I've had this truck a good five years now and have gotten by without cleaning connections, always knew I had it coming. I put new batteries in a few weeks ago and cleaned the terminals when I did. Instead of going straight to separating the fuse panel at the firewall for cleaning and...

    Fusible link question

I counted seven fusible links at the engine wiring harness block on the firewall and probed both sides of each one with a test light - they all appeared to light up the same. I'm going to separate the fuse block at the firewall next to see what I can find and clean it up while I'm there. I'm...

    Fusible link question

I checked that one first, but thanks, I did meant to check them all again today. There is an orange wire and orange wire with a black stripe coming off the back of the blackout light switch harness, both of them are reading 5.5 to 5.8 volts. And there is an orange wire and white wire coming...

    Fusible link question

Crap. I was hoping to test voltage without destroying them. I don't know that they aren't good. I lost lights/horn earlier this week, trying to sort it out. Thanks.

    Fusible link question

I'm trying to chase down a gremlin and haven't repaired a fusible link before. How do the plastic covers at the junction open? My eyes aren't what they used to be. Thanks.

    Odd GEN 2 light problem

Thanks man, it's supposed to be a 90% chance of rain tomorrow but I'll check it whenever the rain lets up.

    Odd GEN 2 light problem

I've done a few searches for problems related to the Gen lights but haven't found a thread with anyone having a similar problem. Nor have I found a fix in the TM's. Mine is dim when starting. It doesn't come on as bright as the GEN 1 or oil pressure light. It doesn't come on while I'm...

Appear to have lost all 12v

Low buck lift kit, scored this at a pick-n-pull, then found a good set of 33x12.50's on craigslist. This truck isn't going anywhere, too much fun.

Appear to have lost all 12v

Yep. I must have bumped it and didn't realize it. I've read about some of the electrical problems you can have with these trucks so I expected the worst. So far I've been lucky.

Appear to have lost all 12v

Ok, that was a big DOH moment... Score one for the TM's though.

Appear to have lost all 12v

I've been working on getting a lift installed and made a test drive and noticed the blinkers weren't blinking on the dash when I engaged them. Turns out I've lost dash lights, brake lights, turn signals, headlights, etc. I'll be outside under the hood today, curious if anyone else has had the...

Is a CUCV right for me?

No jab taken, mine scoots very well. I haven't towed my motorcycle trailer with it yet, but there's no way it will slow me down to unsafe speeds, or necessarily at all. Not all 25 year old vehicles are in the same state of tune.

Is a CUCV right for me?

They are not that underpowered. I just added a civvy receiver hitch to mine to tow my motorcycle trailer when me and my boys ride, it's more than up to that task.

Is a CUCV right for me?

It really comes down to purchase price and condition. Mine has dents and some minor floor board rust but I got it for $1030 in good running condition. I've replaced the starter and batteries since purchase, but otherwise I haven't had to do anything to it. That said, my wife still does not...

    Ignition Problem

I had one break off in the rear glass crank. A locksmith got it out easy and it was cheap.
