Many have recommended the two of the 8D batteries that seem to have the same high cranking amps as the Hawkers. Any brands or model numbers anyone recommend? Are they all vented wet cells or are there any sealed batteries? At a glance I see Interstate 8d-MHD and Duralast 8D for $200. each...
3 out of 4 of the 2008 Hawker HASP-FT batteries tested bad, so I plan to replace all 4. A quick check at O'Reilly's auto parts store shows they have series 31 batteries but with different dimensions and terminal post placement. Does anyone know if a battery of the same configuration that...
Thanks for the great tips and I'll have time to clean all connections while waiting the 30 days for the SF49 form. Reading the TM's are invaluable but chatting with the experts is more fun...and WAY faster!
I'm new to 5-tons (picked up today) and have a deuce. I could only get a solenoid click when trying to start it but it started right up when slaved. Drove 25 miles home with the voltage gauge in the green. After getting home, I shut it down and tried to restart it shortly after that and was...
Thank you both for your responses and thank you SGT Hopwood for your service! So, you believe that the van already has AC installed and functional? Regarding the asbestos, how do I identify if the ducts are asbestos-lined? I will pick up the truck next week but do see in the photos that the...
Happy Sunday Ya'll!
After an enjoyable 3 months with my A3 deuce, I have added an M934 Expansible to the compound. The heaters are there, yet to be tested, but I'll want to eventually add AC to the van. If anyone can share their notes on this topic, I'd be most appreciative.
Thank you!
Running lights work in that setting...awesome! Learned something new today that I should have known already. And this gives me hope for brake light troubleshooting because, for the first time, my taillights were dim in that setting and were brighter when blinking. Still no brake lights but I...
Wow. I didn't know that setting...obviously a freshman. The brake lights, and all lights, functioned the sale as now, which is without brake lights and with rear driving lights too bright. Thanks again!
Welldigger...is parking lights the "brake lights" position on the multi-switch? They don't light when I do that either. Of course, I may have another problem because my taillights are very bright in that position and in the headlights position and I don't have brake lights. From another...
Thanks Castle Bravo and others...great info. Front blinkers are wired and installed. I should've taken note or remembered, but were the yellow front blinkers running lights as well? Right now, all they do is blink for turning (and the black-outs light-up when selected). Thanks!
Installing a set of Truck-Lite LED blinkers on my A3 today. How do the wires match-up? The light has 4 wires: ground, green/483/484, blue491, and red 460/461. The truck has 461, 491 and 20. Do I plug 20 from the truck into green/483/484 on the light or is 20 the ground? (The original light...
I have a M35A3. With rust issues, I've replaced both fuel filters under the hood and fuel lines back to the tank. It's now running great but did I miss a 3rd filter? Where is it, in the tank? Thanks.
I will be building a walk-in tradeshow-like booth on my new M1061A1 trailer. It might be ideal to "graft" an existing M109 or shortened M146 onto it, but I'll probably end up buiding something from scratch. Any photos of trailer customization, tips and experiences are extremely valuable and...
I will be picking up my newly-purchased trailer with my deuce in 5 days. After reading both the M35A1 Operation Manual and the M1061A1 Trailer Manual, it appears that I will have to cross the brake air lines. The truck manual says the driver's side is "service" and passenger side is...
Thanks again, Jeepsinker...great tip! Any quick tips for a stuck brake? Are there exposed linkages/pivots that I can work with a spray of WD40? Maybe a preventative spray before the 10 mile trial? Thanks!
Thanks Jeepsinker. I appreciate your earlier great points about the trailer and for clarifying the tie-down questions. So, I don't need the handbrake lever on the steering column, right? And I connect both brake lines with the gladhands? Thanks.
