    slow leak in tire

Tried open close squat valvevalve. After closing it took a while for the air to stop. I'm assuming it's dirty or tired spring. Didn't have time for tare down tonight. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    slow leak in tire

When I put the o-ring on I put it over the valve stem. Looking at the TM I can't tell if it goes inside the squat valve effectively at the end of the valve stem. I think I will remove it again and see if it's even possible to install that way and also clean the squat valve.

    slow leak in tire

That's genius. I will certainly give that a shot. Do I need fresh washers/seals when I put the bolt back in?

    LMTV California Registration

I have good news. My last trip to the DMV they listened to my long story then asked the supervisor who magically noticed that there was a "G" on the form which meant Gas instead of a "D" which means diesel. Correcting that fixed the required smog state and they gave me plates. My truck is now a...

    slow leak in tire

My driver side rear tire leaks down slowly (2 days to go flat). This is a new problem it didn't do it for the first month or so. I tried the soapy water trick and found the union between the valve stem and the CTIS kneeling valve was leaking. Looking at the TM it shows an o-ring there so I...

    FMTV/LMTV Steering Play Solved

I was able to locate the complete drag link but not both ball joints. I think both sides of mine are worn. I'll replace as a unit.

    LED instrument panel lights

I will certainly give it a look. I agree it's hard to read. The plastic on my lens is clouded so I need to figure out how to clean/polish/replace mine. Brighter lights would be great too.

    LED instrument panel lights

I have contacted a few bulb suppliers and it doesn't look good. There is a small chance that G1.75 base might work or existing bulbs that have their legs folded up could be unfolded. After examining my dead Voltmeter there does not appear to be a way to change that bulb. It may be difficult to...

    Torque Multiplier wheel Wrench Help

Regarding the tire shops. If the nut is rusted on I can imagine it taking a huge amount of force to get it free. I would use Kroil to break up the rust then whatever tools at hand to break it free.

    Torque Multiplier wheel Wrench Help

From what I am reading using a torque multiplier applies linear torque and you can get a calibrated torqued value for any nut you put on with it. It's functionally equivalent of using an extension to get enough torque. To make this work correctly you need the torque table for the gear ratio of...

    Torque Multiplier wheel Wrench Help

I contacted the manufacturer of the "cheater wrench". I turns out they make a torque wrench adapter and have published torque charts. To do our lugs (at 500 ft lbs) it would only be 28 ft lbs. http://www.cheaterwrench.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/torque-chart.png

    LED instrument panel lights

My voltmeter went out and now I'm looking to see if I can get brighter lights for my gages. The TM lists: 60 PAOZZ 71744 CM7376 .LAMP,INCANDESCENT.................. 36 That turns out to be a 7376 bulb which is easy to find on the internet. I have not located a LED drop in replacement. Has...

    FMTV/LMTV Steering Play Solved

I checked my truck. Both ball joints on the drag link are worn. Looking up the part posted earlier turns up a single ball joint/tie rod end. My friend says one end must have backwards threads. Can anyone confirm one side left hand the other right hand threads?

    Torque Multiplier wheel Wrench Help

follow up. If I use a torque multiplier to take off the lug nuts. Can I use that same multiplier to put them back on but use a small lower range torque wrench to drive the multiplier? I don't own a 100-600 ft lb torque wrench yet.

    Torque Multiplier wheel Wrench Help

Sorry to post onto such an old thread. After you do get the lugs off using whatever method. Do you then use the same tool to tighten them back on or are you using a very large torque wrench?

2000 mile road trip in an FMTV

Reading the TM the highway pressure is listed as 55 psi. I'm sure you're right but the TM confuses me. Sorry please ignore this post I see someone else mentioning the 55 psi.

2000 mile road trip in an FMTV

You might also try greasing all of the suspension if you haven't gotten around to it. All the shackle to leaf are fine on mine but the shackle to frame is frozen and I can't get any grease in there. There is another thread and special tool to get those un rusted.

2000 mile road trip in an FMTV

lots of spares for transmission. Have you had those parts fail a lot? For the tire change. Do you use a torque wrench to set the lugs when you put them back on?
