Right...because you've obviously shown us all how knowledgable you are on the subject of modifying vehicles and the laws that affect such things.
Have a nice life buddy.
I dunno, do you feel educated at all?
(BTW- To the mods, this is why I'm increasingly spending less time here. You'll notice other long time members doing the same.)
Yeah...again you're wrong. Most states have laws governing the modification of suspensions (up and down) but none actually have laws against lift kits. In some states there is no height requirements, only that they be safe.
It's a given that all recommendations on a forum like this are...
No, D was the VIN code for a vehicle GM sold to the government. Most DMV's and SOS's associate it with postal jeeps and other "made for the post office" vehicles.
I honestly can barely tell the difference in cab between when it was stock and the Cherry Bombs. Between the tires and the lack of sound deadener in the cab I can barely hear the exhaust. A few weeks ago I left my truck downstate with a friend and when he drove off with it I could barely hear...
All of the vehicles that have snorkles made for them are popular overseas. You don't find as many of these trucks in Australia as you do FJ40's and Land Rovers. Jeeps and Super Duties got them because both are popular sellers in Oz.
I forget which but you can make one of the FJ Land Cruiser...
Doesn't work well with the front battery. You have to move or reorient that battery to gain clearance for the tube and the air baffle in the core support.
That said you can build the same thing for less. Mine cost me about $20.
Honestly, I saw a small increase when I put the Cherry Bombs on Big Ugly. Nothing more than stock pipes and Cherry Bombs replacing the factory mufflers. "Seat of the pants" so to speak. Held hills a bit better than before.
Same when I put the cold air duct on the intake last year. Nothing...
I just ran a snorkel tube to the stock point on the core support next to the radiator last year. Similar to what the civy trucks had. I had to reorient my front battery but it was worth it.
AMEN!
It's yours. Do with it as you please (but please don't lower it or put dubs and low pro's on it:wink: ) and enjoy it.
I've caught flak on here for cutting on Big Ugly but eh, I love it and use it. It's my DD right now and it's a hell of a lot nicer to drive now than it would have been...
